I grew up in Stockport late 50,to early 60s. Went t at Thomas primary & Peel moat secondary. Does anyone remember the blacksmith in Stockport town centre & the stables where all the rag& bone ponies were kept!!

No but I certainly do remember the horse and cart rag and bone men in the 80's !x

@@kq8499 certainly wouldnt be allowed today. Even the milk was delivered by horse & cart!

yes i do they were on egerton street i lived at 63 great egerton street and i went to st marys primary school on heaton norris i also use to watch the smithy shoe the horses great memories for me and thanks a million for helping me to re-live them

my dads local was the rock house as well as the jolly carter & the touchstone there was also three shops on egerton street one facing our house one a bit further down called cooksons and one facing allmans timber yard and facing that was townleys chippy just a few yards down from the touchstone . thanks for the photos of my childhood days
