1952 I was 5years old I walked from St Josephs to Stockport Bedding 15-46 Mam worked there I would run through the bunkers full of feathers scatter them everywhere got my arse tanned for mixing the Down and the feathers up in the bunkers, It was worth it? such fun.

Very interesting mix of old and a few more recent photos. Good to know some things do not change; Pimlotts on the left at 16:24 still trading! The orchestral tubular bells is a good choice here.

1924,-- My 8-year-old mother to her 14-year-old Brother Sam, on starting work. What are you going to spend your first week's wage on? Sam, I'm going to buy a Blackshaws currant loaf and a tin of Nestle's condensed milk. the family lived at the top of Crowther street on the left, Blackshaws was round the corner across Cats Park next to Fidlers. Memories are made of this.

The river has now got fish, behind my son's house in Vernon ward there are fishermen and boys out regular.
