Enjoyed your video of my home town. Part of the film "A taste of honey" was filmed in the grade 1 listed St. Mary's churchyard behind the covered market. It's the oldest church in Stockport with the site having it's first been used in 1190. Another scene was filmed under one of the arches of the viaduct. Did you get to see the inside of the Plaza with it's elevating organ?

Great video. Haven't been 'home' for a few years now but the place doesn't change that much! That said, the new bus terminus looks like it's well underway! I look forward to seeing that next time I visit. Shame about the market though. I remember as a kid growing up in the 70's when that whole area would be stacked full of people on market day. You literally struggled to make any headway get through the crowds. I guess times change though? On my last trip, I was saddened by how desolate Underbank was and the number of empty shops for let. I read recently that they've planning to invest in the area and develop it. Wouldn't be a bad thing in my opinion.

Here am I exercising my key tapping skills on behalf of the stocky blokes campaign to renew the town and watching into the wee small hours .and only to be presented with a quaint seemingly self-confident (one might think smug) nicely appointed Cheshire town. I shall never trust another stocky blokes again
