Great! Thank you. Should a few drill holes be made in the insert for sawdust removal?

Finally! Something those Chinese hacksaw blades can cut.

Ethan, What about making the cut using the actual bandsaw. Slide the fence to exactly the left of the current insert and run the new insert straight into the blade against the fence and stop when you reach the back of the blade and turn off the saw. Make sure the new insert is not twisting as you move it into the blade. I know your fingers will be close to the blade doing it this way but it will neater and more accurate. Maybe a couple of small push sticks/blocks might make it safer. I also know that some blades are slightly thicker than others so you should use your thickest blade or the blade you most commonly use. My blades are 0.6mm thick up to 1/2" but over that they are 0.9mm so I would need two separate inserts I'm also curious to know how dust collection works after installing the new insert as the suction is below the table and you've taken away the holes from the supplied insert. On my table saw dust collection is slightly worse with a ZCI despite suction below and above the blade.

How can I determine what size Blade my mastercraft bandsaw takes if it doesn't have a proper blade!

A string around the wheels is probably your best bet! If you still have an old blade this method works much better than a string - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGjUeYeirr2Xisk

What is the name of your vice. I think I remember infomercial selling them.

It's called a Zyliss vice. I have a couple of them and they come in quite handy at times. Here's a link to someone that still carries them; advanced-machinery.myshopify.com/products/original-z-vise-portable-clamping-system
