I'm going to have my first interview in UK for H&S job, there will be 4-5 people asking me questions. I have no idea what they might ask and how to pass the interview successfully. As someone who is currently working towards the NEBOSH IGC, I'm looking at lots of job ads to see what's available and wondering what sort of jobs should people new to health and safety be looking for (for example I wasn't sure if 'Advisor,' was actually entry level or not?), and any advice for those making a career change into health and safety?

H&S Advisor would be a good entry level job to go for, moving up to H&S Manager after some experience has been gained.

@@StockwellSafety Thanks. Just a follow up, looking at jobs I have yet to see any not asking for at least a year of relevant experience (some 3-5 years) for an advisor role. Is this just to weed people out? For example I found 412 jobs on LinkedIn in the city I will be looking to work in. When filtering for 'Entry Level,' it literally went down to 1 job haha.

'Relevant experience ' doesn't necessarily need to be experience working as a H&S Advisor. Match your real world experience (in whatever role) to what the employer needs.

Is international nebosh diploma accpted in uk or is it compulsory to do national nebosh diploma to get job in uk?

Actually have one other question that I can't quite seem to find an answer for. After doing the IGC, what would you see as a logical next step? Is it NEBOSH Fire Safety/the more specific certs etc depending on what you want to focus on in Health and Safety, or would the Diploma make the most sense?
