As a stoke fan I find this baffling, I feel like something has happened behind the scenes as our fans loved him and the performances actually haven't been bad this season so far for a change, I'd have taken anything 12th and above and I believe Schumacher would of taken us there so this is a huge gamble.

@alastairwood7277Ай бұрын
I mean in fairness Lowe was truly dreadful for us at North End, and it has become clear Schumacher was a large part of why Argyle were successful. Even our players are indicating of late in interviews that Lowe was useless. So in fairness Schumacher has just got unlucky and I think he'll be excellent wherever he goes next, whereas Lowe indeed jumping ship has probably killed his Champ career and exposed all his flaws more so as a person than a manager

lowe wasnt that bad really, he steadied us well after the disaster of mcavoy, but his football wasnt great and just tended to fall off when it was starting to look good. each end of the season we just collapsed when we had the chance to make it. he said he would leave if he couldnt do anything more and he did. i liked him personally but him leaving was right for him. however his attitude in some of his interviews absolutely stunk.

I'm a season ticket holder at Stoke. Totally baffled by this decision, I think most fans would agree we were moving in the right direction. The timing is totally bananas.... Ok, if they announce a massive coup like Potter today or tomorrow and he's at the ground on Friday then yea ok I guess. But if they end up going with some uninspired random appointment then I'm sure many Stokies will be fuming. On that note, I've just seen a rumor that we've been given permission to talk to Norwich's assistant manager. Jesus, I hope that's a troll...
@onelhernandez2289Ай бұрын
Pelach will be really good, trust me. I’m really upset that he’s leaving, I have a feeling he’s the reason we made the play offs last season. He’s a really good talker and was incredibly highly rated internally. Have a feeling he’s the next Carlos Corberan and he’ll take you to the top 6.

As a Stoke fan, I’m not at all surprised. Stoke have become the laughing stock in the league. There’s speculation that he’s off to Everton. But I don’t think it’s that. There’s clearly something happening behind the closed doors at the club. I think JW wants to bring his own decision as a manager into the role. But who the hell wants to take the position, when we go through as many managers like we have since our relegation from the Premier League.

That's utterly baffling. Schumacher wasn't doing a bad job this year, I mean, he beat Middlesborough 5-0 and it wasn't exactly their B-Team. It's also not like there are any logistical replacements, unless Potter or Vieira are willing to stoop down to the championship.

As a Stoke supporter, this decision came as a shock this morning! Although, I’m glad we have been proactive rather than reactive and pulled the trigger now, while there is plenty of time to make something of this season. I never truly believed we were going to achieve anything under him. There is plenty of talk of Narcis Pelach over the job. I would be delighted with this appointment personally. I think it shows and desire and intent to push up the league this year especially with some of the promising players we have at the club.

Crazy decision for me, losing to Oxford the Stoke fans were singing Shumachers barmy army all the way to full time. Had the fans backing. Some truth surely in the behind the scenes. No one gets sacked for that, we just came off a 5-0 smashing at Middlesborough and beat Plymouth away too to which he was fist pumping the air for beating his old team again. No one was expecting this news at all, gutting.

As a Stoke fan I thought it was a spoof post when I saw the sacking of SS this morning. Since relegation we have had managers who had success elsewhere before coming to Stoke each one has resulted in the sack usually after 10 games or so and an announcement like today of a 'change in direction". Before seeing the video I thought of the Birmingham and Eustace situation last season. I believe the new head coach is likely to be the first team coach at Norwich who has no experience as a Head Coach. From experience it will either be a masterstroke or a disaster which will probably be the later. The buck stops further up the food chain at the club.

It is believed that the club didn't consider these to be up to standard and wanted to replace, Steve refused hence he went along with all.

Very weird sacking from the outside, but he played Gooch as a 10 against Oxford after not getting Cundle who he wanted, but we signed so many players so can’t see it being the only reason. His team talks clearly didn’t affect our players as we always concede from 45-60 and I haven’t seen any players saying goodbye on socials. There was also an u21s squad that included Baker after he scored vs Cov aswell as Vidigal who has just been phased out

@leemycock1459Ай бұрын
I’m a bit torn on this. Before we took him in the first place - I didn’t see it to be the right appointment because at best I felt he’d never get us better than top half of the championship, so not really future proofing the club. His results haven’t been great, and those that were were generally disjointed. That said, he played a generally positive brand of football which we’d been screaming for and given our squad strength don’t feel he’s done badly enough to warrant a sacking. If you’re going to take on a relative unknown, give them time. If you were going to sack him after 5 games, why not do it at the end of last season so new manager has time to bed in ahead of the season. We (Stoke) are a joke on the footballing front and they show no signs of positive change. These players aren’t as good as most seem to believe and the manager merry go round continues… I hope for the best but expect the worst

As a Stoke fan it does seem unusual timing. I personally dont think he's been sacked based off performances. Maybe some disagreements with Jon Walters and Jon Coates behind the scenes? Personally, and I could be wrong, I was already beginning to see a repeat of the last few seasons, you know lucky if we finish in the top half, the usual. I think the last 3-4 managers have been of a similar kind, very hit-and-miss and I don't think this latest guy was anything special, I don't think he would have been either, I think they could see this and thought 'Best to do it now than wait another 10 games, because believe me out of those games we would have won about 3 of them. I refer to the last 3-4 managers as "Luke-warm Managers" ok, but would never get you too excited, transfer that onto the pitch and you can see where I'm coming from.
