You reach a point when it’s not how many cans of anything do you have but how many rows / hills. Do you have planted. We sell some eggs , give them away or freeze dry them . Things get bad I’ll start raising meat birds . Build your own Berkey. Only cost is the filter media and some time. Good video

You're already in a "situation", the economy is not doing so great and may be on it's way to tanking. This might pass you by, it might not. There's also the potential domino effect, economic collapse brings on conflict which brings famine and so on.

You right about getting your mind right because now people can’t realize how much things change since 2019

Amass skills. They weigh nothing, you carry them everywhere and can’t lose them. Priorities? 1-security 2-water 3-food 4-a nicer shelter

When I first realized the world was not as it was being presented, I went down a deep rabbit hole of conspiracy theories, etc. I spent hours each day “investigating.” Then I pulled my head out of the internet and decided I could only take care of myself and those around me. Control the controllable as you put it. I now live on 40acres, homesteading and building my own house completely off grid. Rock on gents!

Food, water filtration and storage, toilet paper, soap, dawn dishwashing liquid, medical supplies, books on various survival topics, heirloom seeds, garden tools, a wood-burning stove, a solar charging setup, rechargeable batteries, sewing supplies for light and heavy fabrics, and lots of different types of ropes and lines, just to name a few essentials. Distilled spirits, such as vodka are handy too, because they can be used to sterilize and disinfect, bartered for other things, and, of course, consumed.

If you're going to do your best to perpetuate normalcy for you and your family if hard times come, its important to make your everyday normalcy one that you'd want to perpetuate in the first place.

Ive had an over abundance of eggs and I glass pack some and dehydrate some. In fact- 16 eggs fully dehydrated and blended down will fill 1 pint mason jar exactly to the first lip of the jar. You guys mentioned "mindset" and "skills" which in my opinion are the top besides religion/faith. Good stuff you guys-

Good conservation, it sounds like your describing the life of the traditional life of a farmer. When we were kids, we would butcher a hundred fryers, and usually three turkeys, one steer, and one hog a year. Gardening, canning, seemed were never ending. It really is a life style. As far as water you are right on. Really water is were you will find life in general. Roadways use to follow water routes, or goto. All good points. God, Country, and family is the reason. Thanks for sharing.

The more we value things outside our control, the less control we have. You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength. Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one Marcus Aurelius Life is very short and anxious for those who forget the past, neglect the present, and fear the future. We suffer more often in imagination than in reality Ignorance is the cause of fear. Seneca No man is free who is not master of himself It is difficulties that show what men are. No great thing is created suddenly Epictetus

After getting your mind right... Get your family right. When your family is secure, strong, and supports your endeavors you can accomplish anything/anywhere/anytime because you can devote 100% of your attention to the fight. I can't overexpress the importance of this aspect. Best of luck, Phil

Have been looking into a modern version of a cistern, between the incoming water line and the house, using food grade 55 gal drums that are easily sourced locally. The can be interconnected or disconnected and loaded up on a truck if needed. Also easy to shield from local HOA. Any other ideas?

My great grandfather planted his cash crop, field corn, when the leaves on the oaks were as big as a squirrel's ear. And now you know how to plant without a weather man, and never worry about a frost taking everything out. If you learn to brain tan, you'll find out that every critter has just enough brains to tan its own hide. Which makes a helluva tongue in cheek comment.
