Stolen Original Xbox Retro Review - Backtrack

Who hasn't wanted the ability to sneak around in the shadows, using gadgets to help defeat enemies, and grab some loot? The only drawback is you have pretty terrible combat skills! Stolen is a game that was forgotten on the 6th generation of consoles, but it's still got some tricks up its sleeves that make it a very fun game!

Huh, this looks like a really interesting (if, as I understand it, possibly janky) attempt at a Splinter Cell-like game. I wonder why we didn't get more heist games like this, considering this was the era of Entrapment, Ocean's Eleven, and stuff like that. Also, "other Croft-like assets"? Are you talking about her sunglasses? It's her sunglasses, right? Is it her sunglasses?

Oh ya, heist games was definitely a bandwagon to get on! Maybe Splinter Cell scared other devs off, which is a shame if true 🤔 Haha ya, I was obviously talking about her sunglasses...what else would it be? 🤣🤣

I guess the thing is, the good games of that era have iffy controls by modern standards so one that’s slightly worse is now no more distraction and you can appreciate what it does well.

Ya game mechanics and controls have come a long way, but we only notice it if we play retro and modern back to back! We had more patience for weird jumping and crazy cameras in those days 😆 but am surprised at some of the great mechanics older games had that never made it into other games!
