I'll always be grateful to a Canadian friend for introducing me to Stompin' Tom's music.

From things like this to returning his Juno awards to his singing about Canada he was a true patriot in every aspect of the word. Canada was luck to have him!

When I stop to think that some people in the States prefer Lee Greenwood's form of country music to this, it just gives me the dry heaves. God Bless Stompin' Tom Connors!

I’ve always been proud that Canada uses our armed forces in this manor. Thanks for the inspiring song, Tom! And thank you to the Blue Berets, one and all!

Getting ready for another UN Peacekeeping deployment. I always try to show this to the Commissioned Officers so they get a sense of what we might be able so. 14 months, less one day.

So sad that Stomping Tom Conners is so underrated 😥😭
@robertarisz84643 жыл бұрын
Ha! Underrated my @$$! Tom is my number 1 hero. And in competition for that title are Bowie, Nietzsche, Picasso, and Dostoyevsky. Many other great heroes to choose from but for pure passion, being down to earth, and consistently staying true to your roots, there is none better than him. If a better hero comes along, I will change my mind. But for now, Tom is the man and he will always hold his own.

It’s sad how diminished the CAF has become. MPs now have a base salary of $200K as it was reported just yesterday that CAF soldiers were forced to use Food Banks in Ottawa.

It was like that in Ottawa in the 80s and 90s..Ottawa has always been horribly expensive. Those of us at that time took 2nd jobs..I worked from 8am-4pm as a clerk, and 6pm -12 am at fast food joint..did that for years.

@@carolmullins Thank you for your service. It’s an absolute disgrace. We need to build up CAF by increasing pay, pension and incentives. We should seek to meet our 2% NATO spending goal by directly investing in our soldiers.

Interesting fact during the Rwandan Genocide Canadian UN Commander General Romeo Dallaire put this song for the countless refugees and UN peacekeepers taking shelter at the UN compound in Kigali during the artillery bombardments kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3SkgKGAp92ggc0si=Mt4ckIwjCE8wWjsS 50:05
