From what I could tell: MXR Distortion: Drive - Full Resonace - 11 O'Clock Filter - 11 O'Clock Output - 2 O'Clock Muff: Amp - 12 O'Clock Tone - 1 O'Clock Sustain - Full MXR Phase 100: Intensity - Any Choice Speed - All The Way Down Flange: Rate - 11 O'Clock Range - 9 or 5 O'Clock Color - 2 or cranked!

I'm amazed that with ALL those effects over the years that Corgan can even remember which ones he used on what songs/albums. I guess we all have kind of our mainstays, and once those are changed out, they stay in memory, although his recall here is impressive. And to those of you shocked by his "treatment" of these pedals, he is not "throwing" or "tossing" them around. Most of these are quite solidly built to withstand the force of being "stomped" over and over. All I see him doing here is merely picking them up and putting them back down. He's not being ginger about it, but not destructive. These pedals can handle it. I love the "Robin Trower Overdrive." Billy says he needs that "just in case he (Trower) shows up." Hilarious.

People complaining about him chucking the metal boxed pedals back into the cart - these things get stood on for a living. Plus he's had them for 20+ years and they're still alive

Someone who ever opened up such a pedal knows that they are actually junk. Especially for a millionnaire who owns gear that is worth way more than a shopping cart full of aluminium boxes made of a few cheap resistors. I adore those pedals too. But they just got so expensive and precious for us because of the vintage market. They were junk back then and they are junk today.
@aquathemage16803 жыл бұрын
@@matiasmoulin2126 I wouldn't say they're junk, but I agree they're not exactly very valuable today, especially considering how far digital audio technology has progressed. You could just model one on your computer now.
@matiasmoulin21263 жыл бұрын
@@aquathemage1680 I know. That's my point. The "junk" is sarcasm - considering how cheaply they are actually made compared to an iPhone. Just think about how people thew them away in the 80s or smashed them in the 90s. I lust for those pedals too, but they only have an emotional value now which leads to high prizes because they are vintage. We don't really need them anymore but yet we love them. I can't afford them, that's why I build clones myself.

@jacka1996 The first Big Muff he is holding I believe is the "V3" version of the Big Muff from the 1970s, the switch being a Tone Bypass that comes with the pedal. The second one he holds up which he says was the main one used on Siamese Dream is the "V4 Op-Amp" Big Muff pedal, also from the 1970s, which has an on-off switch.

After owning a few, selling a few, the one I still have is actually a Mooer Elec Lady. It nails the OG mistress tone. I hate to admit it, but I also neglected to fix my original Phase 90, as the Mooer Orange 90 or whatever it's called nails both the script and block logo tones. They do have some duds, but their modulation pedals are surprisingly sturdy and goddamn accurate clones of their predecessors.

@MistaaMojoRisin There's a lot going on with SD, guitar-wise. I haven't really heard the Fender Blender clearly in use for anything apart from the live version of "Slunk" on Vieuphoria, and it's supposed to be on the middle part of "Bullet with Butterfly Wings". I think the Fender Blender is just for "noise" stuff.

Ive got that pedal too and unlike someone else who posted here I think it sounds pretty cool. I think it sounds a lot like what you hear on "Love" but then again they might have used something completely else for it. got mine cheap 2 months ago in almost like new condition. a lot of the older BOSS pedals are pretty cool and Ive gathered a whole bunch of them now.

so it sounds like the cherub rock solo is a mxr phase 100 through mxd distortion ii through big muff plus through a steel guitar preamp or the preamp is first not sure. but supposedly it creates a bunch of white noise which makes the tone sound like a jet engine then he plays a couple pinch harmonics and a slight touch of whammy bar at a deafeningly high volume through some marshall with KT88s. I don't have the money for all that but if some one wants to try it record a vid a post it for us.
@WillCorg6 жыл бұрын
Shilpi Heyden, I'd say for the most part YES. But Billy doesn't ever use a whammy bar as he states "it wreaks havoc on your tone & your tuning". So he has the vibrato springs cracked down tight. You can't even screw the bar into the hole or feed your guitar strings through the plate cover (I assume that's why all his covers are missing on the back) when it's cranked down. It puts it in a semipermanent bend, making it a makeshift hardtail. That's why his signature Strats are hardtail's, you get better sustain as well, another important element to his sound.
@scottmartinezguitarandbass5 жыл бұрын
@@WillCorg Actually, Billy uses Hardtail Strats, and they don't have a Whammy bar at all.
@WillCorg5 жыл бұрын
Scott Martinez, only his 70’s Starts are hard tails (along with his signature Strat). The famous “Bat Strat” is an Eric Clapton 1957 Fender Stratocaster reissue... which would’ve originally had a tremolo (aka Whammy Bar).
