Stone Camp Trail to Flagpole Knob (From Union Springs) | Overlanding Virginia Part 2/3

This Is part 2 of this 3 part series where I go overlanding to three different offroad trails in Virginia.
Today, I woke up on Bald Mountain, VA at the camp site I found the day before while riding on the Bald Mountain Jeep trail. Go check that video out if you haven’t seen it. We make our way to the Flag Pole Knob trail, which was about an hour or so north west of Bald Mountain. The trail has some cool mud holes and rock obstacles if you start on the Union Springs Rd. Side of the trail. It’s a great trail to ride on and has multiple options for camping. I had cell service most of this trail. The signal only went out for a few minutes at the beginning. Watching from Sylva NC. Really enjoy your videos. One suggestion: you need to get a front facing camera. I’ve got one on my 4Runner and my FJ Cruiser. It will save you a lot of time getting in and out spotting yourself. Also, I’d like to go along on your next subscriber ride.

I need that front camera bad! Haha. That’s the only option this truck didn’t have that I wanted. It’s expensive to get the actual Jeep brand one put in. I’ll have to look into some aftermarket options maybe one day. I’m sure it helps! Looks like you’re close to Hurricane Creek and Buzzards Roost! Hit us up on FB or IG messenger. I’ll have to try to do another trail ride this year for sure and bring some folks.

@@appalachhaun_adventures I sure will. Yeah, there are some pretty good aftermarket camera options out there now that are reasonably priced. I put a backup, front, and 2 mirror mounted ones on my FJ with a controller where the backup comes on in reverse, the mirror ones come on with the corresponding turn signals and I can turn any of them on anytime I want and it all cost about $200 or less if I recall including the 4 cameras. If you’re interested let me know and I’ll get you a link for the control system.

Chesapeake, Va Subaru Forester wilderness... been up to flagpole a couple times but run up the other side in the Subaru. I just dont have the clearance yet for Union Springs.

@@appalachhaun_adventures I’ve been all through the Ocala NF and some of the Oceola. Basically sand vs swamp. The issue in the Oceola is the jacked SXS’s trench the crap out of the mud holes you really don’t know where the bottom is. I’m not lifted yet so…. I’m more of a mountain fella and not so much the sand in the crack of my butt, so…. I have done about 1/2 to 2/3 of the GA traverse, but it’s not near as much fun going by yourself as it is with friends…and it’s a ways up there.
