Beautiful place, Melanie. The plot around the house is a bit strange, the neighbor's plot encroaching on the porch, and the public road cutting across the land beside the house. Still, a beautiful place live, especially if the neighboring property could be purchased, too. Alex

A helpful advice out of my own experience: you have to make the poles of the terrace so that rats cannot climb up to the roof and make nests in the isolation. They love that, specially when the insolation is 8cm thick. An easy way is to cut 60cm circels out of metal, cut out a square for the pole in the middle and fix them at the top of the pole.

Yes it is a legally registered as a house for habitation. The roof has been replaced and with the same material as used originally (wood), therefore not eligible for licensing.

Hello, yes this is common because of how (mostly older) sanitary installations are made. You also want to disturb the biological process of decomposition in the septic tank as little as possible.

@@homekeyportugal I’m very disappointed in myself, I did not know the rules of staying in Portugal, and will have to return home in May where I will apply for the D7 Visa. There are a lot of requirements for this that I have to take care of there. Without a car here, it’s not easy to get around either. I don’t think I came at the best time, but I had to come. I would still love to come to Central Portugal, but it might have to wait until I can return. ❤️

99.9% change that they will sell. Most houses there are empty. People often only come in the weekends. For their land and gardens.

Seems way overpriced unless it is in a highly sought after location such as close proximity to Lisbon. You can get much more for that much money with superior views and a livable home for this price.

@@mongofan1 Scary looking though, I heard stories where people bought neglected houses, then when they live there they heard all sorts of sounds, windows and doors banging for no reason, sometimes fire start on its own on furniture. This has been confirmed by people who witnessed such events and they are trust worthy. Some people might not take this into account when purchasing the property but it's a reality
