Stone Mountain Park Georgia Hiking - Walk Up Trail & Cherokee Trail - Atlanta Trail Running

Today we visit Stone Mountain Park Georgia. Hiking and running the Walk Up Trail and the Cherokee Trail loop. The total miles with the out-and-back and loop was just over 7 miles. With a little bit of wondering at the top.

The Walk Up Trails is worth doing but there are a lot of people on it. The Cherokee Trail on the other hand is longer, features some unique landscape and terrain and will have a lot less people doing it. If your taking the time to visit I highly recommend making the loop and enjoying some great Atlanta hiking and trail running just minutes from the city.

We had similar haze here in Boston, MA on the 26th and 27th....bad air quality too. Looks like that white blaze trail was quite technical with all those roots and rocks. Lots of nice historic sites on the way too. Nice run.

Lovely video. I'm from ATL and I try to walk the walk up trail about once a week, though I used to walk some of the other trails with my friend. Def need to get back on the other trails soon. I don't run but maybe I'll have to learn, the fastest I've gone up is 33 minutes but one day I'd love to do it in 20.

East Coast mountains are no joke. Hoping to get down to Georgia out some point and do a trail run! Seems like very interesting terrain you're on in the first part and then those trails look technical! Good stuff!

Beautiful trail - forest and elevation is what I'd love to have as my everyday run. Is this smoke an annual thing in your region? How long do you usually breathe such air? One month a year or?

The smoke is actually from the fires across the country in Oregon. It's crazy! With that and humidity the air quality is awful right now. Once the winds change it should get better. Thanks for checking out the video!!
