The point of "nothing" maps is to be creative with the only 1 recourse you get to build your base. If you change the prices of everything it's not really a rock nothing map... Still a fun not nothing game

The problem is you need wood for everything building, units, researches. And even with all the changes to wood cost of buildings/units its still incredibly expensive to buy wood. (the game i played it was 650gold for 100wood) (selling 100stone gives 17 gold) and i into bought wood to get researches. and there are upgrades that cost 600wood(for example siege engineer) So without changes the cost it would be impossible to play.

Bloody Nival Have you seen T90's triple tech video? In that video Mongols were ridiculously OP, but it doesn't mean it wasn't fun. It was actually the point: to see ridiculously stuff happening. If you keep normal prices weird stuff will happen, but I don't think it will necessarilly be less fun.

At this rate, 100 wood cost 4643 stone. So, yeah. that is pretty much unplayable.

I played in the triple tech and yes it was fun. But i also played stone nothing before the changes and it was impossible to play, u need to sell stone, buy wood and use that wood for farms to get food. The marker prices would get so high it was impossible to make farms and thus not getting to imp let alone getting upgrades for the units. So if u wanted to make it playable you could add wood (like they did in gold nothing) or change the prices which was smart and imo better. Also was more work for poor DUX to look up and change all the value's

True, but can you imagine 3 hours of nothing but stone mining? It would be a very long game, if not a downright stalemate. I like what they did with this.

Super disappointing. Was expecting massive amounts of castles and bombard towers everywhere. Instead map-maker makes everything cost stone, completely missing the point of having a stone nothing game.

Could instead add small pockets of wood and gold here and there alongside massive piles of stone and make a map similar to Dolphin Nothing and Relic Nothing where the routes are open instead of everything being walled off.

Haha while we were testing you should've seen how ridiculous it got. It was literally just castles and hussars dying to castles before they would do anything. All that after 2 hours of just mining coz people would castle off the stone piles that were close to opening up

This game had a rocky start, but rocked at the end. And even though it seems like there was only a grain if creativity in its formation, this idea won me over in a landslide. Can take such simple genius for granite? This concept is in fact rock solid

Idea for a map - "Great Divide". Teams of 2. Pseudo-Regicide. One player of each team is placed in a giant arena which has no resources whatsoever, though they each have a modest supply to begin with. The other players of each team are placed on their own big isolated plateaus where there are a lot of resources, but they can't get off to go fight anybody. The idea is that the players on the plateau exclusively work to get resources and tribute them to their partner so that said partner can actually build stuff and make military. Maybe have it so that Banking is auto-researched from step one, maybe not. The Pseudo-Regicide part comes in that only the resource players have Kings, and those Kings are with their respective allies instead of being on that player's plateau, so they must be protected. If the king goes down then kiss your resources goodbye. Also, if possible, the players in the arena are prohibited from building farms or fishing traps, but those on the plateaus can. Maybe give each plateau player a Feitoria or something, too. Whether or not they keep it is entirely up to them. Bonus Map Idea - "Gold Nothing Ultra Painful Edition". Each player starts with exactly enough room for one villager, a King, and a Mining Camp. The entire map is nothing but Gold which has not had the amount per mine modified. All resource costs are consolidated into taking nothing but Gold (Villager takes 50 Gold, Champion takes 80 Gold instead of 60 Food/20 Gold, Forced Levy is disabled or Malay are forbidden, etc). In this case the goal is not necessarily to kill the other players' kings or capture the Monument, so much that it's just to see who takes the longest to get bored and resign. Basically, it's the Desert Bus of Age of Empires II maps. For a slightly less painful version, there is a Town Center instead of a Mining Camp and a little extra room for more miners.

Farm Nothing: All the tiles of the map are covered with farms. You have to delete them to build anything. You cannot build any new farms. You can re-grow them if they are exhausted. I do not know how to stop people from just mass deleting any farms they come across. If you can figure out a way to stop that, it would be great.

Not sure if these work for nothing-maps.... but: Forest+dearnothing with banned market and king of the hill. Relic+wulfnothing, Starting with 2.5k food. Seafish+wulvennothing. needs several small islands (none large enoug for tc) and a couple of isands large enough for tc and castle - full with wulfs. everyone starts with transportships 15+villagers, one market and no tc. I'd definitly ban magyars here...

I find it stupid that you increase the cost of stone for everything on this map when you didn't do the same with wood on forest nothing, or food on berry nothing or anything else like that. We should be seeing hundreds of castles and towers everywhere and Byzantines and mongols should be OP with their units that cost stone.

Should do this more like gold nothing, stone with forest paths connecting people. No cost changes. Trebs break castles. Onagers break tree lines etc. Should be doable. Maybe at some wider tree lines than on gold nothing so that chokepoints are wider.

T90, I know this was over a year ago, but couldn't the players (especially with kings out trapped in the stone), use the resource loss feature to mine more quickly to them? In other words, all those idle trapped villagers at the beginning, mine to capacity, then tell them to build a non-resource gathering structure, they lose all their resources and then can repeat to quickly mine through an area. Love your casting!

The game balance was tweaked too much for me. I can't consider it a proper "nothing" map. 10 units per pile is too low, tower and castle cost WAY too much. The point of these nothing maps is not to have perfect balance but stupid fun. Imagine proper stone nothing map where everyone has 15 to 30 castles :D

I think Feitoria would work better not as a building, but as a unique tech that increased the amount of resources gained from all sources, by a very small amount. So relics and trade would give more, so would villagers and fishing boats. It would have to be a pretty small amount to stay balanced, but it would be more in line with how the game should be played.

What I want to see, but not sure if possible is Fatslob everything. A nothing map, where everything is walls, set to contain resources. VIllagers can harvest the walls, for any or all type of resources, and units could just destroy them. For more interesting play, all wall should give all resources, and maybe giving resources based on villager damage, not the collection rate. Oh and play it with 256 tech mod, just to make sure we have the most OP setup

Green was really entertaining. Well played by Orange but he's lucky Grey never attacked his base. Grey messed up towards the end. In King of the Hill, if you are near the guy holding the middle, you should go for his base while everyone else goes for his army in the middle. It's pretty much impossible to defend both, especially with someone like Grey who has more resources than you going right for your economy. Grey could have sent in 10 knights, infantry or what ever in front of those bombard cannons and destroyed most of Orange's base in a few minutes without many losses. And Yellow's a real sport for not immediately going for the easy trade and converting villagers to get a huge advantage on everyone else.

t90 i need your help. I copy the viper's build order (except loom) , i click castle with 30 pop and 0 idle time and i go in castle in 16.00 Pros do exactly the same build order and they go castle in 14 minute. How is this possible?

With a normal start, it's impossible to get 30 pop Castle Age in 14 minutes. They're probably going up with less. 28+2 with loom takes 16:05

Archers and Trash Units are bad idea; Now that Wood is the new stone, purchasing Wood will get expensive as time goes on, with players depending upon wood reaching to the hundreds, close to thousands of gold to buy at most 100 wood for most civs that have guilds... Yeah. Wood is more expensive than Gold. That pretty much makes every unit that is Infantry, such as Champions, or even Knights, a cheaper alternative than Halberdiers, let alone Archers, which Archers cost both Gold and Wood. So the player has to get hundreds of Gold JUST to purchase wood, and then get even more Gold to purchase units... which again, selling Stone and Food would just be on average like 14 Gold per 100 Food and Stone Each... and if Wood reaches past 500 Gold worth to get 100? Yeah, that's a lot of Food and Stone. Archers would be one of the worst units to get, the only worst unit being Siege Units, that now cost apparently 20 Wood instead of 1. Which the player can purchase a 100 from the market, that means the player can get, at least, 5 Onagers. Not sure how much Scorpions and Rams cost in terms of wood, but... that's a lot for nothing.

I like how the game uses an icon to make it easy to find the best of each stat. It doesn't make sense to me to put it next to the highest number of losses for either units or buildings. I'd think it should be next to the lowest of each of those.
