The fourth rendition of my ever-evolutionary experiment with FL Studio via the Stone Tower Temple Theme from the Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask. It seems to become a trend that after a year has passed I update what was once my first attempt with the Fruity Loops program to my current standards. Here's looking forward to next year's improvements.
You can find more of my work on this same channel, or if you're brave (or bored) enough you can visit me at my blog at enduar.tumblr.com. I don't post much, but if you're lucky you'll see WIP tracks, art, and maybe some other interesting stuff- it's also a great way to contact me if you have anything nice (or helpful) to say, especially after Google+'s incursion breaking any reasonable way to use youtube comments for communication.

Do me a favor, please don't stop making these, I think this is honestly the best remix of this song I've had the pleasure of hearing.

Thanks! I tend to update this remix in particular based on advances in my skill level with FL Studio so it's likely to happen again!

A leg wound Well in the meantime, feel free to listen to my other stuff. I have one other Zelda remix I'm pretty proud of, and all of my original music is free on my bandcamp site I've linked around here somewhere.

Listened to this along with the other versions you've made, I feel like they all have a somewhat different feel to them, almost as if they were four separate songs composed by separate people, but I honestly kinda like all of them!

Really awesome. Hard to say which version I like more -- this, or 3. For me, it kind of feels like the previous version was "right side up", and this new one is "upside down".

Very nice rendition. I certainly appreciate the synths and unique sounds. Man, there are so many interesting instruments out there and most composers settle only for those used in orchestras. They're missing a lot of potential, don't you think?

+BrokenMoonStudios I completely agree with you. And I am a composer who received a 4-year bachelor degree in music with a concentration in music composition and was accepted into the Manhattan School of Music for a graduate degree under Richard Danielpour. Many composers are missing TONS of potential out there.

+BrokenMoonStudios This is a huge compliment considering I haven't had much success getting away from FL Studio's base instruments, and have made due with tweaking them until they sound like something else. I'm always worried they would be too recognizable or too simple and distract from the music.

+Xene888 Clearly your focus on making the Fl Studio base instruments sound different is working well. I mean I do not know what their sounds are like - but your mix sounds incredible and unique. I wish I had these sounds at my disposal! I use Pro Tools 10. However I have been really itching into getting into EDM (trap and liquid drum and bass primarily). I've heard a lot of great video game remixes done on FL Studio in the past. Just curious what version do you have? And do you have the full software or the slightly cheaper ones? Do you also play the instruments on FL with a midi controller or keyboard connected to your computer? And how did you produce those amazing drum sounds man? I usually program my drums manually or I'll do some automation and work around it.

+AlbaCOR3 Man, you guys are too much. I use FL Studio 10 (Producer Edition) though I have no experience with other programs (or even versions of FL) to give any real insight on its effectiveness. I've got a Korg Nanokey 2 that I use to toy with melodies (I really would like something bigger since I started composing on Piano and it's just not enough keys to work welll with). Seriously, though, drums are pretty much what I'm least confident in so I can't thank you enough for the kind words- I wish I could give more insight other than I just do what feels right to pace the song and compliment/move the melody without overpowering it. I usually just program mine into the piano roll as well and slowly layer more over/cut it back until I find a point where I'm happy with it. I've yet to have a drum piece do more than follow melody though, maybe someday I'll get the point where I'm confident enough to let it take the lead in a track (though maybe that's just creator's critique getting in the way).

hey absolutely man, it does not take formal training to be a good producer/composer. I only went to school because that was the lifestyle I was considering for having a steady income. I eventually decided music academia didn't work for my creative ambitions. If you're looking for something bigger I would look into getting a Nord Electro or a synth if you use synths more. I have a Nord Electro 4 HP which is amazing for performing and holding/customizing samples. I do want a synth soon someday though. I sort of do the same thing with programming drums in the piano roll and just hear out the piece and get it flowing well. I totally know what you mean in having drums take lead on a track. I don't feel confident enough with that either. The Great Bay Temple music is actually an excellent example of percussion taking lead very well.

The Worm Everyone's comments are always a motivator of course! Stone Palindrome isn't going anywhere, it'll always have a special place and I'm sure I'll revisit it again once I feel my abilities have progressed to a point where I needs to update it to match them. For now I've got a Palace Theme remix that probably stole the spotlight from Majora's Mask last year, but we'll see what lies in the future.

If you want, I will add any external links in a section in the description! Very well done! Stone Tower was always my favorite part of Majora's Mask.
