Holy cow. Bill Frisell's playing has come a long way since then.

This is not a very representative performance. He did so many kinds of music at that time. Take a listen to the Jim Hall-Bill Frisell Quartet from 1987 I put up a few days ago and you see he was a fully-formed jazz guitarist even then.

I've been wondering what this band sounds like for 30 years since I read a passing mention of them in a percy jones feature in bass player magazine. thanks for the upload!

Thanks. I posted three sets of this band. If you haven't listened to the other two, check out 4/12/84, a much better performance than this one, and it's the one that was stuck in my head for decades and caused me to dig these out.
