One month into ownership. 08 plate on 106k. Watched your video before purchasing, so nice to see another update. Feels very relaxed compared to my M4. Only regret is going Manual and not going DCT as it's so long geared (110mph in 3rd) you don't get the best out the engine imo.

Glad your enjoying the content, plenty more to come on the e92 M3 😎 Yea a lot have confirmed that including myself regarding the manual. My good friend Matt owned a manual e92 M3 many years ago and was the first one I ever drove! Even back then I was shocked how tall the gearing was.. the DCT + S65 is just a match made in heaven 👌👌 Good news is you could instal a shorter final drive in the diff which would excite things 👌

I'm going to be doing major DIYs this upcoming summer on my recent purchase of 2011 E90 M3 at 120k miles! Engine valve cover gasket, fuel injectors, metal vanos covers, fuel valve, transmission fluid change, and O2 sensor. The car will be completely sorted. Also, I had rod bearings done right after purchasing the car along with coolant flush, steering pump fluid flush, wheel alignment, water pump belt replaced, and idler pulley. After that, I'll start taking care of the blemishes like PDR and refinish all four 359m wheels. Then, I'll get that carbon plenum and look for mpe v2 exhaust.

Great video!! I’ve had my 2011.75 comp E92 since new. Waited 4-5 months to get it delivered since I opted for the 6MT. I’m running it with a full akra EVO exhaust set up and ESS tune. Also added an intake, changed out the foot pedals and added some carbon fiber cosmetics. Got 44k miles on it and did the rod bearings last year along with a SSK. I love this car. I take it out a few times per month and have never really daily driven it. I love it. Personally I think it’s a great looking car. I have no plans of ever selling it but with the way the government is heading with regulations I doubt it would even be street legal with in the next 10 years. It really is sad that has vehicles are being forced out of existence.

I also wish that the e92 m3 was 150kg lighter. Most of the weight saving was done in front of the A pillar. it's almost like weight was deliberately added to the rear of the car to get close to 50:50 distribution. Some obvious causes : the steel drive shaft and diff housing, subframe and rear exhaust box.

The Road Tax is insane! For starters. Massive fuel costs! The BMW M3 V8 is one of those cars that the excitement overtakes our common sense, and we get emotionally involved and a month later in a quite moment we ask ourselves, what was I thinking! This car is madness. My advice get together with some petrol heads in your area and buy one between yourselves. Have it a week a month and you get all the fun with none of the massive cost implications.

Great video, subscribed! Just watched your M2 video as well, another great watch. I’ve got an OG M2 and always wanted an E92 M3. I am enjoying the car after three years and had no issues so far, which is a big factor for me in regards to reliability. What do you think when comparing the two? @stoneautomotive Жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris and glad you enjoyed the video 😎 The M2 is a great car and I genuinely enjoyed driving Matt’s but for me the e92 M3 was more fun to get back into after reviewing the M2, I think it’s very much a personal driving style that will be the decider as if you ask my misses she thinks the e92’s slow due to the lack of torque and the fact it wants to be revved to 6,000+rpm which which has no interest in. Stock vs stock I think the M2 would edge it as the e92 needs a few modifications to really get the best from the V8 experience. Best advice is get down to a dealership and try one 😎

In the UK at least you're taxed heavily on the fuel you put in so are in effect paying twice on the lower mpg vehicles. Re the £7000 over 10 years you might have something less fun that's £400 per year so it's £3000 difference. Not that there's much choice but that's how I justify it.

An e92 M3 manual weighs 1580 kgs, the DCT is something like 30 Kgs heavier, and the convertible ~200 kgs heavier!! So I'm not sure where you got 1700 kg from. Agreed about the range and lack of dipstick!! Your cold start was loud because your exhaust was loud!🤣 As for 'noise' cameras, that's new to me, considering how many retards now have ridiculously loud exhausts and those stupid backfiring 'tunes', I'm not surprised this has happened. In fact I welcome it! (bearing in mind I own an M3, I'm no Sunday driver in a Micra!). Try living on/near a main road with that racket, I used to live on a main road, and those retards would really screw up your sleep! Not to mention drowning out your telly if you dared to have the window open through the summer. (Btw I'm NOT counting you in that group 🙂 , I trust that even when your exhaust was loud, that it wasn't that loud! 😉). ULEZ doesn't affect any petrol car from about 2003, our e9xs are safe on that front, ULEZ is about soot emissions, not CO2, it is a problem for many older (pre 2014 ish IIRC) diesels though! (like my e90 330d, fortunately I've not yet had to go through or around one, although the south London extension brings it within a few hundred yards of a mates place in Caterham!). And yea the road tax is a rip off now! I bought my M3 in Nov 2019, I swear it was about £550, the nearly £700 it is now is outrageous! And is why I will continue to SORN it through the winter (and get back 5 months of the 12). As for your question, 'is now the time to buy an e92 M3?' Nope! That was about 3 years ago when prices were at they lowest, post lock downs the prices have only gone up! I bought mine for £14.7k , same spec car (2008, MT, no EDC, 70-80k miles) is now going for £18-20k. PS I'm still not remotely convinced that revving to 1100 RPM when cold is going to do any damage (beyond a 'slow' cold start), where do you get that info from?

Depends what your plans are for the car, if your a collector (which it certainly sounds like you are) it can’t be easy as you mention to find good clean standard examples & yes sadly there are a lot of rough examples on the market that’s for sure ☹️ I’m not fussed for genuine BMW parts providing the standard is above the original item but that’s with a modified view and I’m also not fussed at all for FBMWSH, seen enough poor work first hand come out of many dealers so would much rather see a car that’s been looked after by a specialist regularly than bmw every 2 years/15,000 miles 😵

@@stoneautomotive yeah get what your saying however I’m lucky enough to have at least 20 pals who work at Sytner Nottingham, in the workshop, bodyshop & in parts, known them over 30 years & never had a bad job done or been ripped off!👌 There are plenty of bags of shite out there, I’ve seen some absolute knackers & the owners think there fantastic!🙄 Still each to here own I guess.

@@nvl2691 ow thats nothing. I had a s204 c63. Guess how much that was. 5k yearly. Fitst registration taxes 10k. Luckely if it's a wagon you can make it a "utility vehicle" over hete by removing the backseat and have 60% of the floor plain, floor has to be either welded or riveted and seatbelt points removed and a seperation panel of yay high behind the backseats. If you do that its 160euro's 😂 I'm telling you this country is mad.
