The dancer during "Vickie" is Steckler's wife. And the Drivers From Hell (a//k/a Wild Ones on Wheels) poster in the diner is a film that Steckler has a part in along with Bret O'Hara - the "Flithy Peeg" fortune teller from Incredibly Strange Creatures.

If Arch had held out for a few more years, he would've made an amazing live-action Johnny Quest. (God knows how racist the depiction of Hadji would be in that...)
@graemesmith6721
@graemesmith6721 3 жыл бұрын
Nah, Johnny was supposed to only be 11. And I never found Hadji racist at all. He was just a Hindu kid who happened to have some unusual talents, which was consistent with the image of the Mysterious East most Americans had at the time. OTOH, some of the depictions of Africans and Asians in the show were undeniably racist, but then so were its depictions of a couple of German villains, so I guess fair is fair?

Speaking of Ray Dennis Steckler, he also had a small part in EEGAH (the guy thrown in the pool) as well as doing some of the camera work. Plus , Carolyn Brandt (Ray's wife and fellow actor in THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE...) played Ray's girlfriend in EEGAH. It reminds me of how Coleman Francis and Tony Cardoza didn't just make bad films on their own, they made bad films together.

Wow, talk about a downgrade from last week's movie. The one thing I saw of Arch Hall Jr. was the movie "Eegah!" on MST3K, but I never knew all that much about the guy until this episode. I have to say aside from the stiff acting from...well, everyone in this movie, the editing is a huge mess. I'm sure it was low budget, but that death scene at 15:47 was so badly edited, it almost gives the last scenes in "Bummer" a run for its money. But judging by the music, like "Rock Around The Clock", the music is really damn good, so I can't fault it on that. Great episode Brad.

Pairing Ray Dennis Steckler with both Arch Halls is like the bad movie version of those comics when supervillains team up. The history between the trio was there, however. Steckler was in "Eegah!" (he's the schumck Eegah hurls into the pool near the climax).

ARCH HALL JR AND RAY DENNIS STECKLER, WE MEET AT LAST! This movie is still better than The Beatniks Ha! So that's why Arch sings to a character named Vicky in Eegah when no such character exists! Pretty sure that's Steckler's girlfriend, who showed up as a dancer in ICSTSLABMUZ "I saw you sing that same song to someone named Roxy, you bastard!" This may be a crappy film, but it's a lot better than Eegah. The Sadist is actually pretty good. Hope MST gets to do this film
