May I recommend rewarding yourself for enduring this film (which I actually enjoy in a masochistic way) by watching the 2015 animated film "Scooby-Doo and KISS: Rock & Roll Mystery". Basically a remake done right in a more fitting medium, and some of the animated sequences are really good. And you won't have to traumatize Lloyd....

And both are goofy fun except that the presence of Anthony Zerbe, who really can act and has a unique and awesome voice, can depress me as this is so beneath him. Lloyd's attitude aside, KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park was a monumental made for TV movie when I watched it with my teenage friends on a 10" Sony colour TV on October 28, 1978. To my 15 year old self and a lifelong devout KISS fan, the movie fell short of my expectations. It played more like a Scooby-Doo episode to my 8 year old self, yet real fans got to hear and see the real KISS talk with a backing track of our favourite songs. YEAH!! I have too find a complete version of this movie as Ive never seen it, and my dad who got me into KISS, sadly only got the last five minutes if the film when it was on TV. I want the both os to be able to watch it together. Some fun facts: Peter Criss was dubbed by sideswipe form transformers. Peter Criss actually got into an accident while filming and was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital but hen came back to life hence his persona the cat an. Ace rode his motorcycle around the park while drunk and crashed it into a coaster. None of the KISS member were given a script to read lines form so they always had to shout “Line!” For their next line and a comic was made from this. For years Paula Nd Gene did not want anyone mentioning the film and swore to destroy every copy they found only over the years it became a cult classic amongst fans and they sometimes talk about it and will allow it to be released. The script went through many rewrites during filming which angered the members. Sadly the park it was filmed at has closed down and was demolished. When Scooby Doo and KISS rock and Roll Mystery came out and then I found out about this film, the parallels from both make it feel like the scooby doo movie was Hanna Barbera’s way of making it up to gene and Paul/KISS and staying sorry. Can’t wait for the sequel to that.
