i didnt see the live chat while this was rolling. I did catch @Heidi-DivineCharts because it flashed on-screen. And of course i did see @Tim Cohen. But I wish I would have realized who @DennisDeepCuts was, and remembered the Refused tour. In fact the arrest was during our tour with them, and their bassist was sort of at the root of it >.<

I remember 108 and Shelter staying at my house in the early 90s. I remember grabbing the mic from Rob during 'No Spiritual Surrender' and totally forgetting the words. I remember my mom having to sign a waiver so that I could stay at the Denver ashram. I remember washing a guru's feet. I remember helping out at Govinda's, the ISCKON restaurant in Denver. Random memories from a time that feels like a bit of a blur. I'm glad I was only 13-14. If I was 18, I definitely would've become a devotee. Not sure that would've been the best life decision, especially since so much of my attraction to the movement had to do with the way it felt like a reprieve from the chaos of my family. I loved waking up early to chant. I learned a lot about spiritual practice while I was there. The devotees were some of the calmest and kindest adults I'd ever met. It was a formative experience for which I'm grateful.

Spot on that Inside Out only makes sense with Zack and Vic. And as much as I love rage against the machine, it pains me to think what could have been.

Great interview!!! Lots of deep dive questions....VOID comes to mind when I think of vics style on guitar

thank you, i appreciated VOID. the way they could be so bad yet wind up sounding so good. like falling off and fucking up the song ALWAYS, but in a way that makes the song sound even more unhinged and powerful. Also I liked their weird, religiously-oriented symbolisms and mystique.

My old band opened for 108 a few times around the time of Songs Of Separation. Vic always seemed very kind and down to earth.

Excellent show. My old band, Beltaine, opened for 108 a few times in the mid 90s and they were always really nice. I didn't grow up listening to hardcore but they're one of the few bands from that time that I listen to.

THis Rocks - are you friends with John Joseph seems like a similar path! Respect your journey used to listen to that first inside out 7 inch and some the other bands My friend from Long Island married a girl she’s from Japan they go north of Japan snow etc. he said people piss in the gutter and sleeping cubbies . He said the people are less egotistical more in depth more nostalgic more humbling more happy no mass murder more vegetarians more infatuation with old school rap where he brought old school rappers there and Japanese people treating them like Michael Jackson’s they were going in for concert. Anyway this show I was going to skip but saw burn inside out etc. saw burn play at the marquee with bdp it violently nuts amnesty international’s fund raising show I think rest in peices playing to!! Hey this is motivating these interviews and guests just getting better and this guest proves this provider of a cult members legacy! Thank you for real
