Thanks for the great video. If you're using EVA glue, can you just leave it in machine overnight or do you need to flush it? What's the proper way to let it cool down?
@NewBritWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Hi Phil, Most of the time the glue can be left in the machine but you might be better to ask a detailed question to your local Festool rep. I only had the machine on loan for a week or so and that was a long time ago. Cheers. Peter

So we now own this fine machine. I am concerned about the banding material to be used. Is vinyl or pvc better? Does one have a higher melting point? Final results are very important.
@NewBritWorkshop9 жыл бұрын
Duane Hurley Hi Duane, I have asked the Festool UK expert to look at this but he is out of the office this week. I am sure that he will respond very soon. If your question is urgent then please contact the Festool staff in your country. I am sorry that I am unable to answer your query myself. Peter
@duanehurley21059 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response Peter. We love the tool and believe that we have solved the problem. Our banding is just a bit to thin. If your experts have any ideas for us that would be greatly appreciated. I'll check with our experts and leave my findings here.

Hi Duane, I think that the thinnest that I tried was 1 mm. I did not keep any of the (tiny) offcuts and everything went back to Festool when I finished so I am afraid I can't be of much help. It really is a great machine though. Peter

Do you have to cut the edging to rough lengths or will the machine cut it that way being able to put more tape on reel? Hope that makes sense Great demo
@NewBritWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
I think putting a rough length is the way. I do not have a machine so can not check. Peter

Can it used to make cabinet doors or is it just for radios shelves and so
@NewBritWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, You can use this machine for any edging work that you require - doors, panels and far more. Peter

Great revies as always - one question - do you have to use a specific brand/type of edge banding? Rod
@NewBritWorkshop10 жыл бұрын
RJ Senn Hi Rod, No, you can use any edge banding that's designed for machine use. Peter
@trimix83wasTAKEN10 жыл бұрын
When applying the banding, you have your sheets laid flat - how is the machine on materials mounted on edge, as in a bench vise? Also, how narrow a piece can be taped successfully - ie: can you do a cleat 3 to 4" wide?
@NewBritWorkshop10 жыл бұрын
trimix83wasTAKEN I think it might be awkward using the machine with the edge facing upwards - it is better to clamp the piece to a bench top or something similar. I believe that there is a trick to getting really short pieces done but it does depend on whether they are up against another facet. Best to ask your local Festool dealer for advice on that last one. Peter

Hello Peter, thank you for these nice reviews. I'm considering about buying it as I get more and more "little" jobs that could be done with this Conturo. I have two questions for you: 4 years later are you still happy with it ? And did you find a solution in order to use already glued bands ? Thank you and have a nice end of 2018 ! Philippe
@NewBritWorkshop6 жыл бұрын
Hi Philippe, I only had the machine long enough to make the videos and then it went back to Festool. I am not aware of any recommended way to use pre-glued edging. Many thanks for the kind words. Peter

nice peter but as with all festool's kit, very easy to use, very clean & very expensive, it is the last part that puts me off as a contractor you have to justify your purchases

Enjoyed both videos, well presented and informative as ever. It's a lovely piece of professional kit, but I doubt that I could justify the price, especially if my wife found out :-)

Hi Mark Thank you. Until now I had considered there to be two Festool tools that were game changers - the OF2200 router and the Domino DF700. I believe that I have now found a third! The Conturo is brilliant. Peter

never turn it off like that. One brief touch and machine goes in the cooling mode.
