I love Cazenovia! My Dad lives in Caz. I just started following you! Started off needing free primitive camping in NC. The more I watched your videos the more I realize we have been, and/or lived in so many of your shared videos! Glad I found your videos!

We had site 15, 2 weeks ago, full of poison ivy, nice size site. Going back this weekend to try a different site. Nice place though, sites were full and everyone was thoughtful and respectful of other campers. Great video, really depicts how it is there.

Thanks, Appreciate the update info, and this year seems to be the year for poison Ivy. We just camped in Tenn and there was tons everywhere! No getting away from it, just stay covered up!

Thanks a million for putting this info out there, it is very useful! We called the DEC and the lady there wasn't able to tell us anything about the sites size and surface (she didn't sound like she was having a good day ;)

I think is an "Everyday" event at the DEC office there. Glad it could help you. Its a nice place. Especially if there is water in the pond !! Some times it gets a bit low. Thanks for the comment !

Enjoy your showing us the eastern coast states camping areas. Living out west, I have doubts I shall ever get that far east, but your videos are very interesting. Thank U and keep up the good work of filming for us. God bless U & the boys.

It sure is! In My experience, the US highways are much more interesting than the Interstate Highways! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment !

@@GoingNoWhereFast Boiling Pot just out side Village of Canajoharie is a cool spot. If you are quiet, no fire, can stay there.Not legal,but? Also free camping at locks on canal.
@GoingNoWhereFast4 жыл бұрын
@@davidwadsworth8982 Yes, I have known a lot of people who camped on the canal. Not sure how some of the lock masters would welcome an RV, but hikers, bikers, boater, canoes and kayakers are often welcomed and allowed to use the facilities.

I don't know. I'm sure the road into the campground is not plowed, but the I doubt they would throw you out if you can get in. And of course the port-a-johns would be gone.. It is a popular place with Cross Country Skiers

What do you use for a map
@GoingNoWhereFast Жыл бұрын
In NY? I used the DOT Topographical maps. Any place else I use the gazetteer for that state, which you can get in digital format and view it on AVENZA maps. I also have GAIA, but I don't think its as good. Might be better for out west I suppose!

The NY DEC Stoney Pond Website has great maps and Info: www.dec.ny.gov/lands/8111.html

We reserved our free camp site at stoney pond through reserve america, I think they just started that (reserve through reserveamerica) in 2021.
@ray52206 жыл бұрын
I live in Morrisville about 10 miles from stoney, it's a beautiful area but the type of people that camp there in the summer, is bad they have no respect for the other campers. It's the people that ruin stoney
@GoingNoWhereFast6 жыл бұрын
That, I'm afraid will always be true. Unless there are others there who will step up and call the police, or make as and against trashing the place and acting like jerks, there will always be jerks. But I have been to many places including stony where people work hard to clean it up and make it nice, at least for their weekend at the campsite. You just have to be ready to make it what you want it. And call the Police for people who trash the place. After all, its against the law to litter.
