I work on a military base in alabama and we've probably got 300 kabota diesels and all have over 1000 hours. I service them and I'll tell you they are so much more reliable than the Kawasakis than we run. Most problems we see are broken mufflers and brackets and park brake levers. Love those things. The one thing I saw you didn't check your hydro tank under the pass seat usually after the hydro filter change crank it and check the hydro tank it's usually a little low.

Good video. In the old days when we (law enforcement) used revolvers, Smith and Wesson taught us that if a wheel gun locked up, hit the frame with a rubber mallet. It would realign the levers inside. If it didn't work then you go inside the frame. Even after retirement, a small rubber mallet is still in my gun room tool box.

Not sure if anyone said this already, but when you just change the filters normally you won't loose any fluid in the hydro. You need to check the fluid in the dump box reservoir. It is separate from the hydro dip stick and has its own dipstick. It will go down when you change the filters and can make it act very funny if not full.

Just a little add to your test method. We have an 1100 C diesel. My manual says to run in low gear till machine warms up. When operating ease on the throttle rather than to the floor. Also it's starts to bog let off the throttle till you hear it catch up and equalize and resume pressing the throttle. Kubota says the hydrostatic trans can gulp to much oil causing a momentary loss of power. It's counter intuitive at first but it's easy once you learn it it becomes second nature . We've had this machine about 6 years now and we love it it's as tough and rough as cattle farming. Little trouble with belt squeak and fuel filter needs replacing regularly ( this is where we tend to lose power when dirty) Overall no complaints best thing we ever bought for the farm .

I see a lot of folks want to remove the arrestor. In the old days, or colder running equipment maybe, but newer stuff runs right at/near its heat limits. They get hot. I'm no physicist, but simple math says keep arrestor. (Middle of summer) + (tall dry grass) x (hot exhaust sparks) = Avoidable Excitement Arrestors are common. Usually they have a 'plug' on the bottom of the muffler. You block off tail pipe, remove plug, rev it, bang it evenly around, crap (flakes/soot/etc) drops out. Many a muffler has been replaced or 'other', when all they needed was cleaned. btw Josh, 3-4mph addition stating at 12ish 25 to 30%. I'd say that's pretty spectacular.

Working with Diesel Engine Product Development for one of the major auto OEM's - A diesel engines main functioning factor is breathing. Good intake air flow and equally good exhaust flow. What you did was required as small D engines dont have the complexity or the added functional costs of a regen burn system. Thats why what you did was a "poor mans regen". You may want to consider removing that particulate can and really give a good thorough interrnal cleaning by banging all the way around that can or gut it altogether. OEM's are required to have those installed but you are NOT required to keep them. Depending on the rest of the exhaust design, It may alter the decibles slightly but should not make it obnoxiously loud if you do gut it. But the even greater power gains and never having to worry about your engine being choked out in the future may be worth it.

@johnnyturbo84604 жыл бұрын
As soon as you mentioned your problem, I knew that was probably the culprit. Even gasoline/ two stroke and 4 stroke engines in side by sides, ATVs etc.. need that service over time. You are supose to remove the bottom screw and have someone cover the exhaust tip to stop flow from the exhaust pipe and rev it for a few revs and then release the towel blocking the tail pipe. do that 5 - 6 times.( the reason you remove the screws is to give the exhaust a place to escape) . you can also remove some of the tips on some models and clean it that way. Its pretty much like a metal internal baffle that gets clogged. Hope that makes sense Also try some Amsoil Diesel additive ( it boosts the Cetane) AND has a fuel system cleaner (4 in one fuel additive)

Maintenance & cleanout procedure: The screen type spark arrester should be removed, cleaned, and inspected after every 100 hours of use. 1. The spark arrester is located inside of the exhaust pipe, and is fastened with two bolts. 2. Unfasten the bolts and remove the spark arrester. 3. Shake loosened particles out of the screen assembly and lightly clean the screen with wire brush. Soak in solvent and again clean with wire brush if necessary. 4. If any breaks in the screen or weldments are discovered, the assembly must be replaced
