No GRE is not compulsory but it is recommended. If your profile is strong then no need to give GRE. I have discussed about tution fees in the video. Hi man , i am planning to apply for ms in usa for 2026 fall intake, actually i am from india and currently pursuing btech(tier 3 clg) , i want to know what is needed to get into SBU for MS IN CSE program. Hello, So the admit is based upon the following parameters: * how high you scored in gre(target 320 atleast) * your toefl/ielts/duolingo score. * your undergrad(btech) cgpa/percentage try to get atleast 8+ cgpa considering you are from tier 3 as you said. * if you have 2 years of work experience that all adds up. But even if you dont have it thats fine. But its good to have work experience. * lastly, make your overall profile strong. Add research experience, do voluntary social welfare work. Make sure you have an overall strong profile/portfolio to showcase in your SOP. * before your college ends try to do internships. All the above listed factors matter and will help you get an admit. @@vaibhavtyagi2024 thank you for the information bro. it helps a lot. actually i want to go right away for higher education ,so i am not focusing on work experience right now. i am thinking to add certifications /projects /work shops in my profile to make my profile stronger. another thing where you talked about research experience , like am i supposed to do a project or research on a cse topic and publish my findings. is there any alternative for research experience, which i can add in my profile. also is there any alternative for internships, like doing projects etc.

Like i said before the admission criteria is based upon several paramter. And its not like you need to have everything. But its necessary whatever you do is really good and is making your profile strong. If you dont want to do internship/research then do something else to compensate for it and make your profile better.

Hi, really informative video. Confused between my admits from GW MSCS and SBU MSCE. Can you help me with it, considering I got a 50% scholarship from GW -> so from cost-perspective both are going to be same. Which factors are you going to give more preference to: Ranking, Location, Alumni Network or coursework?

SBU MSCE is better ranked as compared to GW MSCS. In terms of location, GW is better as it has more city life. But for job market purposes both the locations are equal. Alumni Network of both colleges are similar. SBU alumni is a little better though. GW MSCS offers more CS-related coursework and is good. If you take SBU MSCE you would have to take SBU MSCS courses which are really good even the professors are really good. It's possible to opt for MSCS courses even if you take MSCE in SBU. @@preethikasreddy2102 Hello, To answer housing pricing better i would like to know whether you are coming for masters or undergrad degree? And what do you mean by SB hourly wage? You mean on campus job price? That depends upon the type of job you are being offered. It varies from 16-30dollars per hour. Mostly student gets 16-17 dollars. I hope this will help you! Hello, You dont need to pay any deposit right now. Will have to pay in august(assuming you have fall 2024 admit). For now you just need to pay housing deposit. If you wanna stay on campus in dorms. @@GaganDeep-fy3ev sbu do provide scholarship. But its very rare and is given up only if your profile is very good. Good gre score, toefl score, undergrad gpa needs to good for it. I have some friends of mine who came here and got TA/RA under some prof and as a result of which they were able to scholarship. So this also you can try. Other than that search for scholarship website of sbu. And apply on it as well. If you think you have a strong profile.
