@@J_williams22 thompson was terrible, one of the worst fielding SS LSU’s ever had. I wish i could post screenshots of stats in comparison to other LSU’s SSs to show you but I cant on here. He also had fans cheering for him in the post season every time he came up to the plate like he was a make a wish kid because he actually was like 1-30 in postseason. It was aggravating as hell to watch his ass field & bat. Held my breath every time a ball was hit to him

Honest question: if the catcher trips over the bat on a pop fly, is there a penalty for that? Said another way: can the batter lay the bat anywhere, or is there a penalty if he lays it down on the base path? Or are you just a clumsy catcher if you actually get tripped up by the bat on the ground?

If they throw the bat they can be called out. If the put is somewhere in a more sneaky way and it gets in the catchers way there is no penalty. Bat is part of the live play.
