Stony Soil Auger

Alex and Kim check out the Stony soil auger for use in coarse, gravelly soils with stones. This heavy-duty auger is ideal for those tough layers when even the Riverside/Bucket Auger needs help.

This auger is typically used for soils with a significant gravel content when the Riverside/Bucket Auger is not yielding adequate results.
This auger’s body is a thick, heavy steel strip bent over by hand forging. The pointed cutting section of the strip is curved outward, thus creating a hole that is wider than the average body diameter.
The Stony Soil Auger is available as a one-piece or two-piece auger. With diameters of 2¾” and 4” (7 and 10 cm), the two-piece auger also comes with our bayonet or conical screw connection types.
