Wow you spoke my mind.. I am a malayali married to a Upite.. my husband is Gupta. You can imagine the way I hear and I am 10 years married. Ideally what u said is very true..At some point we do what we as a family enjoy. Initially when I used to hear I used to feel bad now it's more of me my kid and my husband. Had same background as yours and thought process as well. I felt glad about being broad minded enough to appreciate every culture. It's not just about cross culture couple belonging to different states. It is that you are ought to carry forward the culture and rituals when you get married to a man. Gradually with time my thought process has improved. U know would be difficult to accept but this is the way the culture of 'Bharat' has been preserved. And I'm not talking about the culture of 'India'. There is a difference.

Hi manashi... After a long time i m replying... Though i am watching your vlogs on a regular basis... You replyed very well... I resonate with you so much.. I'm assamese.. We do kali puja on diwali & lakhi puja after durga puja on lakhi purnima.. But with due respect i follow laxmi puja on diwali, Teej... As these are some major rituals from my husband's side. Yes children spend maximum time with their mother so they learn mother's things very easily. So i understand you very well.

Actually I am Bengali. But we have Laxmi puja along with kali puja.

I am an odia. Unlike North Indians we worship goddess kaali maa during diwali. We worship goddess laxmi mata 15 days after durga puja and it starts from kojagori Laxmi puja . We all worship same deities, it's just that with change in region, the process changes. Every festivity is to celebrate I feel.
