Ship of Theseus. If you replace literally the entire drivetrain of a Subaru with aftermarket parts, is it still a Subaru? How many parts need to be replaced for it to no longer be a Subaru? If it’s an IAG short block, trans, driveshaft, diffs, axles, hubs…. then it’s no longer the original ship. Philosophers have pondered this for several thousand years, they knew way back then not to buy Subarus and instead build more reliable wooden ships.

The original diff was spec'd out for a 300hp car, it had and has its purpose. Same with putting in built motors and dog box transmissions. If you wanna car that can hold 1000hp factory you aren't gonna find that for 10k on facebook marketplace.

@@paulmorgan2636 yeah but it’s not made by Subaru. It’s made by an aftermarket company. I could take an Impreza unibody shell and put it on a Chevy S10 frame and make it a slammed mini truck. Is that a Subaru? Or a Chevy? Because all of the suspension and drivetrain is Chevy. But the body is a Subaru. If the ENTIRE underside of the car is IAG aftermarket, like I said engine trans suspension, even aftermarket subframes, the car would be an IAG. Not a Subaru. Subaru OEM is “made” by Subaru. The parts in the video are IAG.

No because the framework of the engineering is still the same, engine design, transmission design etc. Its just stronger parts. The formula will always be STI unique

1. Plaid s will barely gap a built sti 2. Plaid s will get destroyed on a backroad where cars like the sti are the most fun 3. Sti is a manual with a raw driving experience yet modern car feel, dont even compare that gay electric or auto shit
