Honestly I interpreted this advice as "if you are playing in high elo with people perma picking enchanter supports to lane with you, don't play to snowball, purchase items that keep you alive". I'm in Gold 4 and have the option of duoing with someone who will spam engage champions so I will probably still greed and purchase Collector in that case 😭 It seems like the item isn't actually bad in terms of payoff or synergy, it's just bad when there's so much unreliability that you'll be able to snowball

Yep that is exactly correct, but it also applies to low elo when you play solo. Collector is still a solid item though if you can perma-fight though, don't get me wrong. It just doesn't happen as often unless you're duo queue bot lane and you have someone you can trust for engaging

oh but surely we don't only use 5 out of the 30 supports and call it a day? out of the 16 supports by pick rate (looking at the same ugg list as u) 8 of them are enchanter and 2 of them are mages/senna

me when I think conventional supports being more picked after the top *10* when they lose to tanks and also mages that aren't even designed as supports is a good argument cause people don't just pick literally anything over them because there are **so** many supports in the game pickrate: 1 thresh, tank 2 senna, adc 3 rakan, primarily tank 4 nautilus, tank 5 blitzcrank, tank 6 lux, mage 7 janna, your first enchanter 8 lulu, enchanter 9 pyke, assasin 10 karma, enchanter And not to be *that* guy, but support it says in the name is a supportive role, which is dumb when you think that enchanters which is the golden role for supporting, heals and shields, are rarely ever on top, and always get dominated by even mages which were designed to be on the midlane All good with diverse picks but enchanter *should* be the dominant role in supporting if they're going to nerf an enchanter into obvlivion everytime they step into another lane (Janna top, Sona mid, Soraka top) but not do anything about mid/top designed champs settling into the role and actually encourage the pick (pantheon, maokai, zac, zyra, xerath, vel koz, ashe, sylas, neeko, amumu, heimerdinger, brand, shaco, the list goes on) It's just unfair and stupid that they let enchanters play one lane and one lane only and every other role can just migrate towards botlane and dominate the top tiers for years And also stupid people complaining about enchanters as soon as they are playable and like 20% of the top 10 in THEIR role@@LoLEnryu

Enchanter meta makes it very hard for Nilah to snowball in lane, you have to farm and scale so shieldbow helps with that whereas buying collector just allows you to be one-shot by all the carries in other lanes

no doran's shield is great because nilah is melee and she's bound to take hits when she wants to farm in lane vs 2 ranged, janna has no healing she only has shielding which is actually all the more reason for shield, i would understand the argument if i had a soraka who could sustain me throughout the lane instead

why not mortal reminder over LDR? mortal gives 5 more ad, and the enemies don't have that much more HP than you so LDR's passive doesn't do much, plus mortal would also help with nami, yone and viego's healing.

​@@DanceBober you need at least a 2500 max HP difference to get the full 22% extra dmg from LDR. if you're a 2500HP ADC in a game where literally nobody is building tank items and only 2 enemies will have maybe 700 more HP than you, you will only gain around 6% more damage ONLY against those 2 enemies, while missing out on 5 AD on a hyperscaling ADC, plus the grievous wounds effect which would help reduce a good amount of healing vs Yone, Viego, Nami and even Jhin's fleet footwork in this game. The support (who didn't even buy a GW item this game might get picked or might be split from you for whatever reason and they won't be able to apply grievous for you. LDR is not really a great item unless they have at least 2 enemies that stack HP items ort one tank that nobody else can kill. Viego and Yone where the only enemies who bought HP items (Trinity and BC for viego and hull for Yone) which is a tiny HP difference. Edit: I did the math, at the end the Viego has 450 more health than Nilah, which means you're only getting 4.5% extra damage against him, and it would be even less for Yone. Both of them heal quite a lot, so the 40% healing reduction plus the 5 extra AD that Nilah scales insanely well with are much more valuable than the less than 5% more damage against 2 enemies you get from LDR.

@@DanceBober Oh wow those 3 dmg of the LDR since nilah has 2500 hp against only viego are for sure better than 60% antihealiing 🔥🔥🔥 Jokes asides the reality is that he builds it too much . I play akshan and i build way more times Mortal than LDR simply because u need like 2 tanks to be worth it over the 60& antihealiing but simply beacuse akshan has almost 2500 hp base and if i run overgrowth it's minimum 45 (this continues to scale so it can be even 100+ hp ) + 3.5% (71 hp one the rune effect triggers ) + in some matchups u take bloodline and +85 hp and u reach idk 2800 hp . A bruiser like a viego has what ? 3300 hp at full build ?

I love all your videos and I've been watching every single one of them but I'm a bit confused about this one. Why the title of the video is stop buying collector when collector into Navori into LDR and shieldbow 4th item into DD would be significantly more damage and would make this game way easier to 1v9 not to mention enemy teamcomp is really easy for Nilah to deal with and you have Hecarim as an engage to initiate the fights where you can easily clean up afterwards

I think he was highlighting the strengths of building defensive. If he dies he loses the game. Dude had 1 death and it was 21 to 19 at one point so enemy could have easily won

@@Kyle-nm1kh I see for me personally offense is the best defense and I always make sure to build items that give me as much damage as possible so my carry potential is highest it can be and if your building defensives your automatically putting yourself in disadvantage unless your building defensive when you already have a lot of damage (for example going DD as your last item)

@UrNilah generally speaking, yes. Early game offense into late game defense is typically ideal as a rule of thumb. But sometimes defense becomes more important, the more valuable you are to the team. If you look at your team comp and it would suck for your team if you were dead... you need to not die. Priorities sometimes change

I see your point but if I built full glass cannon this game I would get one-shot every fight for sure, for starters the team wasn't doing great all game and I was kinda the only one who wasn't dying. On top of my Janna being very slow with her tornadoes and ulti, I think it's much more consistent to just build more defensively in a lot of games. Galeforce might not feel like it's useful but having a dash to save myself from a possible yone, kennen flash r, etc. is good for the game bc I can't do dmg when dead.

but like gale force is so bad And Sheildbow is really bad too like read the stats collector is good because the lethality synergieses with nilahs armor pen and the have 0 hp builders so how is ldr damage you already have a ton of pen in your kit gale force isn't good cause as you said the enemy is short-range and pretty vulnerable if you went collector first you would have already benefited on your cheese attempt and definitely on the skirmishes the enemy has aoe stacked damage so surviving is impossible imo a better idea is to try to follow on your teammates and bomb the enemy

Untrue, galeforce is necessary in a lot of games even though I don't actually like building the item. Shieldbow is also a gold efficient item with just the base stats alone so it's actually very cost efficient since you're getting more value with the passive too

If I had a 52% wr in diamond yea Nilah is trash, but 52% in challenger when I griefed by locking it every game for a whole week for fun doesn't mean the champion is trash. Nilah inherently is a weaker champion the higher elo you go because she's niche and only great when utilized as a counter pick. I just had a week of where I only wanted to play Nilah so I forced it every game despite good/bad conditions. But yes that also doesn't take away that ezreal is a much easier champion pick than nilah in most games. Just like how Gumayusi would only lock in Nilah one game in the entire worlds series, Nilah shouldn't be locked every game if you want to win and that's just how the champion was meant to be
