Just upgraded from a 7 year old i7-8700K/GTX1080 to.... Ryzen 5 7600x3d (yes this is really a thing - limited market though) ASUS TUF Gaming B650-plus wifi 32Gb G.Skill Flare x5 DDR5-6000 CL32 WD-Black SN850X NVMe 1Tb Gigabyte RX7600XT Corsair RM750e ThermalTake TH240V2 The M/B, processor and ram were a bundle at $150 off, the cooler was also on a good sale. Reused the old Digital Storm Case. Current monitor is a 1080p-60Hz, but looking to upgrade to 1440p-higher refresh next year. On the whole I hope to get another 7 years from this kit, maybe with a few minor upgrades.

I kind of regret not buying AMD. I went from the GTX 960 to the RTX4070. Been waiting for a new GPU since 2018 or so and AMD released their cards a bit late. Basically I could have gotten a 7800xt for way less, more VRAM and overall better performance besides Raytracing.

I already liked it. You do a great job of reminding us And it works. I was number 261 this morning. Keep up the good work You're doing great. You have a unique channel. You don't need to change anything. I watch some gamers Nexus and I watch some UDF tech And you are in my top 10 rotation. As well. What turns me off is when reviewers slam companies. Stay away from that and you'll do fine. It's okay to be disappointed in something and say hey I wish this company could do better but calling companies liars and cheaters and stuff just turns me off. What I hear is honest opinions from you and looking for the best we can do. And not at the expense of others. Thank you thank you thank you.

First pc, 4080 super, currently playing the assassin’s creed franchise in chronological order, playing ac unity as of now. The one thing I love about having a pc instead of a console is the much bigger variety of games. I really like how you critiqued this build, well done. The RAM was a good touch, 16GB for 1080p/light1440p rig is more than enough, the CPU Cooler was a good note too and as you mentioned, this is one of the easier things to upgrade in the future; now for the case... I LOVE THIS CASE, for $60, it's one of the best one's I've built in so far, the aesthetics with the included RGB fans and hub are such a good deal! I don't like that its a negative pressure case but hey, for the money you can't complain too much. Good stuff.

8:48 - I got my 4070 for 500€ last year 4 days before black friday instead of the original 700€+ that this card is still on sale for today, so hear what this man has to say. To be fair, mine is a gigabyte card and they were having a PR nightmare with how their 30 series and some of their high-end 40 series were having cracked PCB's due to sagging last year, but for 500€ +5€ for a bracket? I took it. Don't regret it. Therefore, if you have time and you don't really care about the 2 games coming with the 7600XT, waiting until November for your GPU sounds like a pretty good move. If you knew what you were doing, I'd wait for the deals and buy the whole PC in november, but since that's not the case, GPU sales is your best bet at saving a couple bucks without messing anything else up. Pretty good gaming system and decent workstation for 715$ though. And you can go to 32 GB of RAM for another 28$ if you end up needing it, which is nice.

What would you consider to be "the second best" PC you could build? Basically, what is one step, or one level below the best of the best for gaming? I still have a 1060 laptop I bought for $260, but it's just not enough anymore. Great videos as always by the way!

Well it depends on what your rig is, and what you prioritize. The ps5 pro will run games at 4k 60 with full raytracing. According to Steam charts, most people don’t have a rig on that level. So there’s an argument to be had that a $700 ps5 pro would beat a pc with a rig that the majority of Steam users have. So while pc users could upgrade, you then would have to figure out what matters more to you. Personally, I don’t see what the problem is. It’s a premium console offering premium fidelity (4k 60 with raytracing) at the same price the GPU alone would cost to do the same thing.
@x8jason8x5 сағат бұрын
@@kellswiss Lmao... this is exactly what I mean. How... *_pray tell please,_* in the ever loving world... do you think... _a console confirmed to have the vast majority of titles at 30 fps locked..._ is going to *full ray trace anything??* *_Especially considering the 4090 can't even do that... and Sony is using a 7800xt equivalent???_* You're not getting 4k, you're not getting RT, you're getting a locked ecosystem with horrid peripheral latency. Please don't @ me with this absolute nonsense, it's 2024, you can do more with a PC than you can _any_ console.
@kellswiss5 сағат бұрын
@@x8jason8x I was probably off base with “full” RT. But you’re completely wrong about consoles being locked at 30fps. Maybe the Series S, but the Series X and Ps5 have been running titles at 60 and even 120 (depending on title) for a while now. Seems like you lack awareness of how close consoles have gotten with this generation. And it’s not an AMD equivalent GPU, because it runs raytracing at a quality level better than what FSR is currently doing.

I got the nzxt h5 flow for 59.99 on prime day. It was easier building in that then my Montech case.

@@PCBuilderChannelI figured it would give the gpu a problem. that’s why tested Starfield on it. I have a 7900 xtx on my gaming pc, so it’s not a problem.

Got my new PC coming (coming from console gaming - ps3/4/5) so very excited to get hands on it Saturday (hopefully!). Love watching these kinda videos, so much cheaper to build your own but I would not want to do it so I ordered mine from a trust company. Managed to watch aload of videos on specs / parts alongside my bf so hopefully we managed to ‘build’ a good one haha.

Congrats on your new pc!! Glad we could help (:

You're valueing vram WAAYY too much. I know it's important for futureproofing, but it seems like it's all you think about at this point.
@PCBuilderChannel5 сағат бұрын
VRAM is important but we also boosted the straight up performance of the GPU choice by quite a bit. The benchmarks are in the video. Also they mentioned they value an upgrade path which makes VRAM a particular concern.

The PS5 Pro is good value. The $700 build highlights how difficult it is to match it.
@PCBuilderChannel5 сағат бұрын
The PS5 Pro only plays games and media, you can't edit videos, write a paper on it, can't upgrade it in the future. So for $15 more I'll take the pc personally.
@davidlandrum5 сағат бұрын
@@PCBuilderChannel I have a Mac for that. 😉
@Longlius4 сағат бұрын
Right but you get a much wider library of games on the PC. Also I don't think the PS5 Pro's relative value is going to stay strong going into next year since AMD's going to be dropping RDNA4.
@davidlandrum3 сағат бұрын
@@Longlius The $700 build had an Intel ARC in it. RDNA4 is out of the budget. Personally, I’m not interested in the wider library of PC games. I’m certainly not building a PC for those games.
@Longlius3 сағат бұрын
@@davidlandrum We don't know what the RDNA4 prices are going to be but in all likelihood we'll see an 8600XT at around the same $300 price

7600xt 16gb having more vram is not always better if the card is not fast enough to utilize all 16 gb. In my market I rather get the 6700/7700xt 12 gb as they are about the same in price.

A770 performs better than the 7600XT in 2K because of the wider memory-bus. I would have done an all Intel Build with a 12400F, because the first guy said he wants to "upgrade to 2K". That's translated to "I have a FHD display, and I want to get a PC capable to run stuff in 2K, because down the line I'm going to get a 2K display" CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor ($111.66 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock B660M Pro RS Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($94.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($32.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Kingston NV2 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($56.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: ASRock Challenger OC Arc A770 16 GB Video Card ($279.99 @ Newegg) Case: Okinos Aqua 3 MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($59.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair CX (2023) 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($54.99 @ Amazon) Total: $691.60

Cool story, but that was an A750, which wouldn't outperform the 7600xt, in any honest review, A770 doesn't either, and Intel's GPUs are for people that don't mind being product testers. Just say you're an Intel fan, it's more honest.

@@x8jason8x :))) LoL? A770 beats the 7600xt in 2k and loses in 1080p You can watch some reviews if you have trouble dealing with reality And no. I'm not particularly fond of Intel. I'm fond of price/performance
@x8jason8x3 сағат бұрын
@@gruiadevil No Intel GPU beats anything when they still BSOD regularly. They're better than they were, but you paid to be a product tester. That's reality. If you're actually after price to performance, it's 100% fail to recommend a 3 generation old chip as well. That's reality. What Jason built is better than this build, on every level. That's reality.

@@x8jason8x It's simply not though And saying Intel cards BSOD daily shows me you get your news second hand Did you use them? Are you qualified enough to install a driver and to keep a clean OS? It's the same mentality that plagued the AMD GPU's for a long time. And I've been running AMD GPU's for the past 5 years, and they run just fine. So NO They don't BSOD regularly if you know what you're doing. And the A770 still beats the 7600xt in 2K and in price to performance Stop the glazing act
