Hi from Vancouver! This is my favorite guitar song of all time. I was elated when I saw it listed here. I never knew this video existed until now. I put it on with headphones and within 10 seconds I was crying (sobbing) through the entire song. It was the most emotional musical experience of my life so far (55). Music is one of the most important joys in my life. I'm not a musician just a listener - avid. I just want you to know how much I appreciate & love your passion and energy. The fact your spirit and soul can come through wires etc across the world and do that to me boggles my mind. I must have been a guitar player in a previous life. Thank you! I'm sending my love, light & positive energy back to you. I felt it important to let you know how it feels at this end. Thank you again!

Ever since I first heard this song I could not understand how it did not get MAJOR airtime, everywhere!!! May be my favorite song of all time if there weren't so many incredible pieces of music out there. Great job Joe, loved the cover, Bloomfield had sooo much soul in his play. Love it!!!

Bloomfield was the greatest blues guitarist. Nice work.
@joboiecruiser11 ай бұрын
I would put Clapton frst and Peter Green second during their stay with Mayall, and then maybe Bloomfield. But Bloomfield on the Super Session recordings was a moment in time perhaps never to be equaled. Sometimes the sound of the room, and I have experienced this myslf, makes a guitar do things they don't ususally do. The air molocules, the room temp, the odor, the vibe, I don't know. But thank you for thank you for the kind words.

I'm old enough to have seen Bloomfield with The PBBB in the 60's. Give their East West Album a close study. Greene was a great blues player too. I don't consider Clapton a blues player although he certainly was proficient in that genre.@@joboiecruiser

@@genem9725 I understand, but again I am talking about Clapton and Green when with John Mayall. After that they both went a slightly direction. And each of them ended up on one type of drugs or another and so sadly Bloomfield passed away at perhaps at his peak. Or was he just geting started. Just watched a movie about Blomfield and it was very well done.

Sounds good,can't, make out name of guitar,gibson?
@joboiecruiser6 ай бұрын
Thank you very much. The guitar is a 1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom with S Duncan pickups. Funny story on that guitar; bought it as a back up for live gigs, but my other one got stolen. So I pluged this one in and it sounded awful. No tone, no sustain, no life. So I kept buying amp after amp thinking the problem was the amps. Put the Duncan pickups on it to hopeful improve the sound but only the same lifeless guitar. A couple of years later I bought a replacement for the stolen one and it sounded fantastic. Put the one in the video back in its case for about five years. Took it to a guitar tech and he told me the frets were bad. I bought the guitar new, so how could the frets be bad. So it went back in the case for another five years until I had the money for the new frets. I still doubted new frets would change anything. BUT WOW!!!! New frets and the Duncan pickups what a monser I had in my hands. Still amazed it was the frets.

Dear Professor Logsden - Did you find a group of musicians yet?
@joboiecruiser8 жыл бұрын
+James Hobson Yes, as a matter of fact I did, and I am about to debut my band, Joe Logsdon & Company, about a week after the Super Bowl, in Livermore California. Many will love my band and many will dismiss it, but all is good. I am performing all my own compositions exclusively, with the exception of an old Yardbirds tune that I have rearranged to fit the personality of the band. If you would like to hear any of that material you can go to Myspace, Joe Logsdon & Company. Thanks for the inquiry.
@joboiecruiser8 жыл бұрын
+Jason Donovan I am not very high tech, nor participate in "social media" very much, but I am on KZbin, (obviously), and I am building my Facebook page a little at a time. But remember back in the day Myspace was the big thing.
@joboiecruiser8 жыл бұрын
+Jason Donovan The video of that show is being processed as we speak. It should be up in a week or two. I consider anything that has to do with computers, cell phones, ( which I do not own one), and even "digital", "high tech". I still use 90% analog, reel to reel tape, etc. when recording audio music tracks.
@joboiecruiser8 жыл бұрын
+Jason Donovan I operate a fully professional 24 Track 2" tape recording studio in my home, with a couple of digital reverb units, and digital multi effects, as well as many non digital effects units. Tangent console, Ampex tape machines, tube mics, and no computers at all. But just a the human voice is analog, and a guitar going through a tube amp is analog, and real drums are analog, etc. I will stay with analog until I am the last man standing. I always laugh when a computer based recording studio buys outboard gear so the recordings sound analog. But to each his own.
@joboiecruiser8 жыл бұрын
+Jason Donovan I have a digital multi track recorder and have used it. But I find it to be far less musical than my Ampex 24 track. There can be no plus to digital if we are talking about sound, tone, feel, life, and of course quality of that sound. But if you like digital more power to you, I just like analog and I will do whatever I can to avoid the digital world. Vinyl is becoming more popular as we speak. If they start selling sour milk as the only milk people will eventually accept it. But it is still sour milk. Not like milk from the "old days".
