I have been collecting for five years and have a very nice collection. I am going to appreciate and use what I have. I think the prices are crazy now. I would prefer to travel instead.

I’m personally waiting for my last bag. I can consider ourselves wealthy but these prices are now digging too much in our disposable income. I cannot justify it anymore. I’m lucky enough to own many very nice pieces of jewelry, bags, some rtw, shoes, and watches and I’m more determined than ever to live in an abondance mindset. For now on, buying luxury will be a once or twice a year event, not a monthly one. I most probably went too far anyway, to the point it wasn’t feeling that special anymore. So I will be more than happy to slow down and just be very mindful to the pieces I will add. Like you said, the new price increases don’t have the same effect on me, I’m not mad really, I’m just at the point to just move on and do things differently. I actually see it like a positive thing in my life, maybe it’s what I needed to get back to my common sense. 😂

For the denim trend, I opted to buy Levi's denim tote bag with the back pocket design 😊. The damage was only $29 on sale. Because....who knows Denim better than Levi's 😉

Love this video and totally agree with you; the price increases are leaving a bad taste all around, to the point that many of us are slowing down and just less hungry for luxury in general. That massive in-store QB increase is really frustrating though. I’m going to get a sense of where my H wishlist is at for the year, but otherwise I’m thinking of preloved for just about anything else I want to add this year. Sooo frustrating and sad to know that we have to be twice as wealthy as it used to be in the 80s, but I see this too.

Also a bit random, but I’d like to maybe do a collab with you if you’re open to it? I want to do a video about being a PhD and loving luxury… it’s been my observation that academia and luxury don’t mix and I have some theories as to why… anyway, lmk what you think! Even if we each just do a video and respond to the other’s, it would be fun to explore this topic with someone in a similar life place! 😉

Seen others comment on different KZbin vlogs a theme of higher pre-spend. Like 3:1 up to 5:1. Still don’t understand why not just go 2nd hand (BNIB, never worn) and get exactly what one wants. My husband and I both make over 6 figures so I totally relate. I can’t afford that game and I don’t have that patience others do.

this channel is severly underrated. i have a similar professional profile to your own and your analysis of luxury industry practices and consumer psychology/finances and your communication skills are all on point.

I think people own many more luxury bags these days than 20-40 years ago. I just do not understand how when each luxury bag constitute more of household income, people seem to own more bags.

Your 3rd tip was INCREDIBLE. Here I was hemming and hawing about a $900 3-day workshop I was considering but would have spent that and more on something for my wardrobe without a thought. Thank you for sharing that tip and giving me pause to think about what else I can “invest” in!

Luckily I have been shopping luxury for over twenty years so I have been able to curate a nice collection of fine jewelry, bags, etc. However, I am feeling more and more at my limit in terms of what is an acceptable price. Perhaps this is because I know what I used to pay for the same if not better quality items. I am still buying luxury, but only about 2-3 very nice items a year. I just bought a Moynat bag and I'm very happy with the quality (on par with Hermes); plus it is less than half retail of an Hermes Kelly bag. Going forward, I am going to buy contemporary brands that are in the $300-600 range. As for fine jewelry, I still have a few more items left on the wishlist, so after that, I intend to slow down too. If I were starting out now in the lux space, I would probably just go for contemporary brands.
