Although I haven’t seen direct results (I.e. me getting back to my peak of D1, currently S3 due to my computer breaking for 4 months) , I feel I have become a much better teammate whilst watching your videos. I comm better and understand some map dynamics that are useful for general team strategy way more than I did before. I only wish I could see my rank go up just as quickly as I have improved what I have been lacking in the last month or so. Thank you so much anyway for doing all this!

Diamond 1 to silver 3?!? Can’t you just aim dif your way out of that rank at that point
@Jackson-ol5xt
@Jackson-ol5xt Жыл бұрын
@@botlyfe7303 to clarify, my computer would randomly crash in games, giving me afk penalties and deranking me very fast. I also had to take a break due to finishing up my degree, so my skills got very rusty, and when I came back I was playing on my 6 year old laptop. Comparatively, I went from playing at 170fps always to max 60fps with stuttering. So although it might seem that I could just play, the conditions were stacked against me. Currently I’m up to gold 2 just breaking my 11 game win streak with a tie game.

When I'm IGL, I try to think a lot like how Woohoojin explains, but sometimes I'll find myself against a team thats playing, in my opinion, absolutely unhinged. Here's the most recent example: Up 2-0 on haven, like in this vod, the enemy team has econ ranging from $2,100 to $3,600, and then their Jett at $5,200. I think to myself, okay, no way Jett buys an OP while her team is econ, so I call for my team to push C and play it aggro. We smoke off back site and stage, the most likely places for a marshal to be, and I throw my stim beacon down. Jett is top C Boxes with an OP. Why. We win the round, but why on earth. That isn't the best example because it doesn't illustrate my follow up point, which is that when my play calls are directly incorrect 2 or 3 times in a row I kind of stop being confident in my IGL. Like, if I cant get a read on the enemy teams plays, I feel lost. I don't just mean when I call a play and it fails, I mean when I call something and it is just not correct. Another example: my team has rushed Pearl B long 5 rounds straight, so I call for us to fake B long without a commit and for spike to go A. Spike goes A, and gets met by 4 members of their team waiting in corners on site, not even holding long. Their only player at B that round was a skye. Is that just them out-reading me, assuming *I* would assume they'd start stacking the site we're steamrolling? All this to ask, how do I keep a strong mental game when my IGLs are being proven unsuccessful?

Can somebody help explain the League analogy? Edit: I think I figured it out? You've crashed one wave top (not a slow push) and are looking to fight the jungler on vision in river (ignore backing off) Option 1: Walk towards jungler and start a fight Option 2: Stand under turret and wait for the jungler to gank you 1v2 Option 1 is obviously better since you can kite towards blue away from top. The top laner cannot join because they are far away and you are moving away.
@Kunkyard
@Kunkyard Жыл бұрын
You don't just wanna fight their jungler in a 1v1, you wanna kite them towards your jungler (if he is close) and midlaner so you probably turn that 1v2 into a 1v1 into a 2v1/3v2. The other thing that can happen is their jungler realizes he can't follow you and just gives up on it.

I like to pause vods I watch and attempt to place the other teams agents on the map based on utility and my info on them and I do get it correct sometimes however In game I struggle to do this because in most of my games because I have to consciously think about it but I have other things to think about like preround plans to execute site or thinking about my eco and my teams eco. I also don’t trust myself many times because what if the other team is just different and plays in a “weird” playstyle. I think a solution to figuring out positions of the other team unconsciously would be thinking only about the other teams positions for 1 week so that it becomes a unconscious thing. Sorry for the long comment 😅

WOOHOOJ IM SO SORRY I SHOULDA LISTENED TO YOUUUU, I’m a bronze 2 that dropped all the way to rr 1 cuz I kept locking skye cuz I thought I understood her better then Reyna, I did your 30 minute warm ups to get better but that didn’t help me since I kept losing my fights as skye. It's interesting seeing this, as an imm 1 controller, peaked 3, i genuinely think I've only made it to immortal through game sense and calling things, my mechanics are lacking, but seeing jiro it feels like he's the exact opposite. A lot of his decisions i immediately had the same reaction as hooj. It's always great however to have a jiro on my team who i can manage as an igl, raw aim in the right place = free elo i definitely need to get my crosshair placement discipline up, crazy how these 15 year olds have such strong mechanics

00:59 in chat, CHIEFKEEFENJOYER I am no coach nor good at the game, but I do not think there is a specific formula to follow to get good at the game. Good practice is important. Now, the point of good practice is to create good habits and to train your muscle memory. Just like driving a manual car. At the start, you probably have to consciously think about everything you do, which makes driving more difficult. But after doing it for a long time, your brain will start doing everything unconsciously do that you can focus on the important part: the road. If you are able to get good habits from only playing ranked, good for you. Keep doing it and improve. However, for most of us it is best to focus on one or two things at the time and get good at those things. This is where practice tool, aim labs and deathmatches come in. You can shut off your brain from focusing on strategy, communication, movement or whatever it is that you are not supposed to give attention. If you suck at clicking heads/aiming at the head, then it is harder to do when you have to think about 15 other things as well. And there is no answer to how long you will have to do practice everyday. If you really want to hit radiant, then yes, an hour of practice every day is maybe required. But if your goal is to hit gold, don't sweat it. But it is also imoortant to practice enough to the point that you see results from what you do. And there are several ways to track progress, depending on what your goal is. However, the answer is probably more than 5 minutes.
