I've rarely used jerk baits. Your explanations make a lot of sense and I need to explore them this season. I did catch a 14" flathead this past fall on an original Rapala.

Really great info, everything you said is spot on , I needed to see this three years ago before I wasted a lot of time and money, personally I use mostly Vision 110s when the water gets in the low 50s but have found a weird bite in clear water , my last 5 or so jerkbait fish have come on the Berkeley Stunna in blaize orange in clear 45 degree water , makes no sense , unfortunately lost it and my lure retriever yesterday so I just ordered a few more

Sucks to lose a good bait like that!

@@nathanquincefishing7122 and to add insult to injury I lost a Vision 110 yesterday ☹️

I'll be in Central Florida second week in March. Sometimes, I like to use my Berkley Jukes as I feel their taller body shape more accurately mimics my baitfish, blue gills. They are 78's and my fav is the blue gill pattern one. Haven't had as much luck with my Megabass 110 Juniors this Winter but, then again, it's been a cold Winter here in the Northeast and, the lakes have been frozen for a bit.

What rod do you recommend when throwing a 110 ? Thanks
@robertbrost77772 жыл бұрын
If you don't want to break the bank, the St. Croix Triumph is a good one. I use a 6' rod here because, my fishing is from the bank and, I find a shorter rod better so I'm not slapping the water all day!

Hey Robert I have fished for years but never really used jerkbaits and want to do it more and learn. I too fish from bank so 6’ footer makes sense. Are you talking spinning or baitcaster, med extra fast ??? Thanks man
@robertbrost77772 жыл бұрын
@@richardkeller6940 Spinning for sure. Medium, fast or extra fast works.

The rod I had in this video was a Kistler helium 6’9 light medium heavy fast action!
