I got pulled over last night and the cop asked me if I had been getting flashed, I said no (I don't remember anyone flashing me). My headlights were installed by a handyman over a year ago and last night was the first I knew of the problem (although I wouldn't have known why they were flashing me if my lights were on and regular beam, because I don't drive with high beams). Cop thought my beams were on high, nope. Anyway, he was nice and didn't give me a ticket.

Measure from the center of the headlight to ground for height as not all Jeeps are at the same height then subtract 2” from headlight height. Eg if headlight center or dot headlight is 38” from ground then 36” at 25’ ft away from a vertical wall on level surface would be correct.

No... incorrect... at 3 feet, you made no accounting for the angle. If a vehicles headlights are 3 feet off the ground then they would adjust to being parallel to the ground... And lots of drivers angrily flashing them. What you need is 2" of drop in 25 feet of distance. So 3 feet would only be accurate at 25' if your jeeps headlights are 3 feet 2 inches when up close to the wall. Here are the correct steps for ANY vehicle: 1) Mark headlight height on wall at 5 feet of distance. 2) Back vehicle up to 30 feet distance. 3) Adjust height so they are 2 inches lower than the tape marks. You're welcome.

Nice vid bro and kudos for doing it all with one hand...I just wanted to say that it i think your still a little high...You were suppose to put the tape at the center height of your vehicles headlights, then adjust down the prescribed number of inches...i forget the exact height but if your lights center of reference from the ground is higher than 36", you should be 2" below the center line of your tape...if it's less than 36" then your beams are level with your reference tape. Atleast that's what the SAE teaches...Not downing what you done, just point it out for future reference.

Something might be binding. Try turning the screw & shaking the head light at the same time, it might move.

One thought, if you measure the height of your headlights from the ground up, would that be the correct height on the garage door? Some vehicles are obviously lower to the ground.

Correct... you can use any distance you want, but you have to know your starting close up light height (which he didn't show or even mention) The math is easier when you use centimeters - its basically 1cm drop for ever 5 feet of distance (about 7/16").

The housing sucks. It causes so much shatter that the light goes everywhere in these halogens which is why people flash you. Think of dropping a lightbulb and where everything shatters. That’s how the damn lights dissipated in these.

No - need to adjust to existing height of current headlights near to the wall as the starting point. A 2" lift is 2" inches lower than a 4" lift. 1997-2006 TJ's use a T-15 Torx bit.

Not the correct way to adjust will fail in most countries that check beams doing this. . Need to measure from headlight center dimple to floor then tape this to wall as of course every vehicle is different. Then the drivers side is minus 4" and passenger side is -minus 2" below centre at 25ft on a FLAT and LEVEL road.

I thought about getting LED bulbs for my vehicles, but one of my biggest pet peeves is brand new trucks (I'm sure everyone knows which ones I'm talking about) that have the coolest looking headlights that blind me from a HALF MILE away. I'm sure it is illegal or will be when the body count goes high enough. If you have 2 vehicles you should get in one and have someone else drive the other, towards each other, and see if your one of the a--holes that are blinding me! We all bitch about other people, but sometimes, without knowing it WE are the a--hole! If you're being flashed ALL the time (and you're not smiling) there is probably a reason!
