Jordan, I love you. I'm broke as hell and I'm still able to afford your content. You give away so much for free that I feel obligated to buy your theory course and your kimura trap instructional because I want you to be succesful so others can keep learning from you. You have the best content on KZbin for a beginner like me to learn from

That's a really helpful trick from half guard! One thing that kinda catches me off guard is when the opponent lies on your torso with their hands inside when you have them in closed guard. I actually find difficulties continuing from there(I'm a white belt). Anything on that?

My legs are too long to get butterfly hooks in. This is made harder by my hips being squashed

@johnnyalvarez6208 Жыл бұрын
Elevate to the legs maybe? But it really just depends on what they are doing ig. I have the same problem
@adamgillespie3393 Жыл бұрын
The point is just to get both knees in front of their hips, John Danaher talks about it in his half guard fundamentals instructional. It's overly optimistic to expect to sweep straight from chest-chest half guard but if you get both knees inside, they're basically just in a worse body-lock pass that u can shoulder crunch
@RandyLeftHandy Жыл бұрын
@@johnnyalvarez6208 I've found that just elevating the legs without moving their hips either is a waste of energy or it just helps them pass. It's like I have all the ingredients but I still can't bake the damn cake
