Oh my god , guys that video works like magic . I have been suffering from trichotillomania since i was 7 and i am now 18 i tried everything and i have been listening to hypnosis recording recently but nothing really worked on me , but when i listened to this video while studying ( i always pull my hair while studying ) i didn't have the desire to pull my hair. When my hand touches my hair I immediately put it back . That was great , I just rub my eyelashes now when I feel discomfort with them

Thanks so much for this video. Ive listen every night before bed and I haven't picked my hair in a week. I've suffered from trich for twenty-five years and it's really been a major burden for me. Something that stopped me from living to my fullest potential and destroyed my social life. I know my hair will never fully grow back but at least I'm able, for now to bend this habit. Sometimes I try to psych myself out to bring on an urge to pull. But ever since I began listening to this video that urge has been met with disgust and I don't want to do it. This is the only thing that's worked so far. So I'll continue to listen to this video for as long as possible. Thank you so much.❤️

I´d like to know if everybody when is pulling is looking for the unperfect hairs. I guess the tricotilomania, and other body-focused repetitive behaviors, are linked to acceptance traumas, and I guess also we are all perfeccionists cause the same trauma. If you identify what I´m saying, maybe I'm right, and if so, I think it might help to do trauma therapies like "somatic experience", "EMDR" and "brainspotting". I'm trying these.

Same, always on my legs. And I pick at bumps anywhere. It's partly a sensation thing - if it doesn't feel smooth, it feels imperfect and inadequate. And my hair is so thick that it grows back in no time at all so I'm always feeling it, even if i wax or epilate too.

I just recently pulled out the eyelashes that I was trying to grow out on my left eye and started crying, I quickly went to this to make sure I don’t pull out the other side. I WANT to stop but both my parents and my friends build up more stress on me and I just continue, and I’m afraid of telling them because they will either a) forget and continue or b) get angry at me. @@jessicab1919 how are you now
@jessicab19193 жыл бұрын
@@sugaashi still struggling with trich unfortunately. I do have half a brow on both sides so a little bit of progress with the help of caster oil. But even with it, it's still a constant battle going back and forth between making progress and destroying my progress. I need to go to reverse behavior therapy at this point that's all I think will help me honestly. I will say that CBD oil (without THC) was helping me a lot but it's so expensive I couldn't keep using it. If you can afford it I'd recommend it. But of course look into it first before buying it. That was the one thing that actually helped me. Only downside is it might make you feel a little spacy. But you can still function. All it does is relax you. The other thing that helps me is being in a pool. It just releases all the tension. I don't have a pool but when I'm on vacation it helps me. I do take a lot of showers because the water helps. A bath would be better since it's more relaxing. Whenever I want to put I soak my face and hands with water. I've heard there's cooling pillows. I feel like that could possibly help. I used to have a very tiny cooling pack like a mini one, that I'd kind of rub on my brows to make that pull sensation go away. It helped. I am someone who has hot flashes and possible arthritis. I have body ache for many months. Both of these things are triggers for my trich. But I understand what causes it for me. That irritation of my body pain and any stressful situations. You need to learn your triggers. I downloaded an app a long time ago where I would put in a log every day when my trich acted up where I input what I was doing and what emotions I felt in the moment and possible triggers. That was helpful. I'd say this is a step in the right direction of getting better. Water helps me with both my issues so I tend to use that to stop me from pulling. But sometimes I don't feel like getting up and make matters worse because of it. Ik I need to get up when I start pulling and get busy with something else. You know what I notice is when I'm pulling I'm having a breakdown that isn't coming out. Until after I stop I have a breakdown over my body pain usually. Something I need to go to doctor about. Sometimes I'll start crying in the middle of pulling. I feel like my biggest issue is not getting up when I start to pull. Cuz I don't feel like moving. But I need to get up. We need to get up. That's one of the biggest issues I feel with trich. I don't pull when I walk. Only when I'm sitting it seems like in my room is when I usually do it. Sometimes when I feel that intense extreme urge I just randomly decide I'm gonna go for a run. And channel all that energy into exercise. It helps really great but of course I can't do that whenever. But it's a suggestion when you can. For some time I had a bracelet and I would just play with the beads on it. Helped to an extent. Bubble rap I love it cuz it does give me that release to an extent. I have a fidget spinner sometimes when I want to pull I play with my fidget spinner instead. I keep it by my bed on my nightstand at all times ready to go. I feel like a big issue in trich at least for me is we tend to not even realize we are even doing it until the damage is already done. And it really sucks. I saw online there's this thing for trich like a bracelet but when you lift your arm it makes a beeping sound. Idk if that would be helpful or just annoy you. The thing with trich for me is that I'm easily irritable like my nerves get irritated. honestly and it seems so simple but practice breathing more. When my trich acts up I do breathing exercises sometimes. I have this app now called simple habit it's a meditation app. I meditate every morning. And I never pull in the morning mostly at night when I can't distract myself anymore but also during the day. The thing is with trich it's our bodies way of saying we are overwhelmed by something. We need something else instead of pulling the gives us the same relief or rather that rush of dopamine. Because that's really all it is that's why we do it. We need something else that has the same effect. Like for me it's showers. Obviously I can't take showers all day. I remember someone telling me I should floss more instead of pull out my hair. And it's honestly a good idea. I think once a day during your most stressful time of day this could be good. But remember breathing is so important. It will help relax you. I tend to forget this when my trich acts up. Honestly I cry when I destroy my progress but then I remind myself I didn't have any eyebrows for years and now I have some even if it's not a full brow it's still something it's progress. If you don't already have it buy caster oil and apply it to your brows. This has been the best for me in growing out my brows. I also grew out my lashes I barely touch them now. So that's progress too just struggling with my brows.

@@jessicab1919 I wasn't expecting a reply but thanks for replying. I'm also struggling with it since 9 or 10 and now going to be 21 soon. I pulled out my scalp hair. I went bald during my school days. The things which you said to stop the urge I'll try that for sure. Also as you said, we don't realize we are pulling our hair and when we do it it's too late. So the only cure is to prevent this. I heard that applying vaseline/oil on your fingers helps you to stop touching it. I'm gonna try it. I'm gonna try all of the tips you mentioned along with it. Even I've noticed when I'm sitting, I do it often because we have a support to put our elbows on something and reach above. But while standing the support is gone so it would be difficult to raise your hand up. I'm very tired of this thing, I wish someone could find a cure. People here around me don't even understand what I'm going through and they add up more stress which cause me to do it again

Hello, Thank you for this sub! I shaved my hair almost 3 weeks ago. But prior to that, my hair pulling had dropped of let's say 80%. About 2 years ago, I had started pulling out my hair more and more and it was kind of out of control even though it has started more than 20 years ago. The intensity would just vary. I shaved my hair because I love having it shaved. But before shaving it, I still really wanted to stop pulling it out so that having them short wouldn't be a as a crutch. (I wanted to have my hair shaved so much but wouldn't do it for sexist reasons: women are cuter with long hair, etc. so pulling it out was kind of an unconscious reaction to force myself to do what I wanted to do: shave my hair.) Anyways, I would listen to this subliminal session awake or sleeping. Might have been for a month or two maybe...

I'm a bit hesitant to listen to this because of the many negatively phrased subliminals which contain "not" or "never". I thought the subconscious has trouble picking up on that and might turn it around? Also I don't know what to think of a phrase like "If I pull my hair, it will fall out". Doesn't this induce fear and catastrophic thinking?

It's kind of a strange thought, that there are actual words being said underneath the water that may actually change or alter our behavior , but I'm willing to try anything at this point! Ive struggled with this affliction over 40 yrs now. I have just started trying these hypnosis vids this week. Grateful I've come across yours. Hope so much it will work for me! Thanks!!!

Gwendolyn Carter is it working for you? I’ve been pulling for 25 years now so I completely agree when you say you are willing to try anything at this point! I have quit twice in my life. Once for 7 yrs with minimal pulling and once for 3 yrs with minimal pulling. But the strangest thing is, I literally CAN NOT REMEMBER how quit those times, other than reading a book from a woman who is now pull free and I misplaced the book and journaling 3 pages a day front and back at night when I pull most to make my hand tired. The trick to this journaling though is that you aren’t supposed to ever stop to think of something to write next, you just keep writing whatever comes to mind for example, say you are about to write “and”, but you can’t remember what to write next you keep writing “and” over and over until your next thought comes to mind and begin writing again. That did help but it is so bizarre how I can’t remember any other things I did to stop. So this time I am keeping notes and recording videos, because I am proof you can in fact stop, however you will always have urges, you just learn to manage them. But again, strangely enough I can’t remember what I did in the past. I am also making recordings in hopes to be able to post them one day to help others with trichotillomania and for people who do not understand it. So I have recordings of raw emotions that people don’t realize that it isn’t just the pulling that affects us, it’s also the emotional, physical and mental toll that it takes on our bodies after a long pulling session, that we DO battle to TRY and CONTROL and REFRAIN from doing it, but sometimes we just simply can’t 😔 but I NEVER give up hope that I CAN and WILL BEAT this unbearable and relentless battle AGAIN!!! I hope you and everyone else who suffers with trichotillomania can learn to beat it as well. Stay positive and strong!!! 💪🏻😊

Gwendolyn, Thanks so much for your feedback. Your comment spoke to me because it's been about 35 years for me. I purposely fell asleep listening to this last night but there were words at the end that jolted me awake.. something about continuing to listen regularly.. but I don't even know if I can trust this (big sigh). Such is the journey of searching for what works. I just recently began Faster EFT from Robert Smith.. so far, I can't say that I see improvement although he does say to do it repeatedly until the bad memories are dissolved (I'm paraphrasing), so I'm certain that I still have work to do. We'll see. I'll report back my experience. And who knows, perhaps this hypnosis did good that I don't even realize yet. Ever hopeful and wishing you all the best♡

@@wildunruly2622 Thanks! I do well with not pulling for several months sometime. Then 'Relapse" again during periods of stress, On and off since age 8. Very frustrating. Mine originated from childhood and family of origin issues and stressors. Despite my best efforts. There is almost always some little unattractive spot in my hair somewhere at any given time. Comtiumuing to do something you KNOW makes you look and feel bad (even now whilst I respond to your posts) makes you start to feel potentially psychotic after awhile ! I continue to try multiple suggestions made. God bless you and your family during these turbulent times. Stay safe!
