You give it 30 psi Steve and it clears the oil filter of oil so you don’t have a mess when you remove it

@@SteveRobReviews yes that’s correct the factory set up doesn’t have a check valve either and you would get a start up rattle from sitting. This prevents that from happening

Man that's just your luck with that oil filter. I was a quicklube tech for several years at Walmart and then a GM dealership. Changed oil with my dad as a young child at home and have always done all my own vehicles. 10's of thousands of oil changes in my 52 years, and every brand of filter on the market. I've never seen a filter come out of the box with a crack in it. Please do an update on how this system works after a few oil changes. I'm considering it for our 17 JKU.

In 45 years of working on my cars and trucks I’ve never seen a crack in a filter housing. Good thing you caught it, you could have been fucked without a kiss or dinner afterwards. Interested to see if that works after that Penstar sits for 24-48 hours.

MFBT dirty old pilsner for the win! I’m kind of sad about that $500 fix it’s a shitty design. Why didn’t they just mold the 90° into the body of it tapped it for the valve so it’s pointing straight up would’ve been an easy fix on that design I mean for $500 fuck do it, right!

If the 90 was moulded into the body you couldn’t install it and the cost to manufacture would be a lot higher
