This is a great idea and so simple. You could also actually pay next month's bills ahead as well rather than putting the money aside.

Thank you for breaking it down like this. Lisa Grateful Me does the snowball method to fund each bill which I think is a cool idea. I am going to write out all of my bills and start working towards being a month ahead when I have money leftover in my budget or I get extra money.

I love this idea and plan on starting this week!! Do you have any suggestions regarding budgeting for groceries? I am having the hardest time figuring this out for a 2 person household. I feel like I'm making it harder than it needs to be. Thanks in advance!

I love that for you!! Let me know how it goes (: when it comes to budgeting for groceries sometimes it can be hard, even after many years and trips to the stores because of prices being out of our control etc. but the one thing I have always done is meal plan everything. I know exactly what meals I’ll be cooking for the next 1-2 weeks so I know exactly what ingredients we need to buy. That has helped us tremendously over the years to not over but or over spend!

I've noticed in the community, a lot of people have an emergency fund, savings, and one month ahead. Do you have all 3 or is your month ahead your emergency?

I love this question, thank you for asking! I have a month ahead for one month of expenses, an emergency fund of 12 months of expenses, and any money after we consider our savings. But really any money saved is savings (:
