In this video I go over several tips to help you stop losing to nitro gauntlets in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3. The Nitro Gauntlets or fists melee attacks have been difficult for many players to deal with in season 3 but these tips will hopefully help you outplay enemies using them and stop losing to the nitro gauntlets. Skill issue, you should realistically be dying more to getting boogie bombed and someone using a gatekeeper or burst on you.

I like the movement aspect of the gloves and air attack ability, but the melee option needs to go or scaled back significantly from what it already has been. I’m a fan of the gloves especially to counter the turret guns, but I dislike players spamming the R2 (PS5) button nonstop and doing damage while not even making contact.

The fists are stupid melee weapons. The regular attack hits from EIGHT METERS. No joke. The animation is nowhere near you but it hits. The dash punch hits from 15 meters. Crazy range on them.

Sprinting/jumping away rarely works if they catch you in the open. That ground pound will cook you anytime. You just need to carry the gloves yourself or have shockwave

If it's early game and you haven't managed to find mobility, the fists will kill you 100% of the time.

In certain parts of the map, they're everywhere. In other parts of the map, totally non-existent. Usually recommend spending time looting in two different parts of the island or patrolling large areas to scoop up dead player's gear.

The hardest part for me is the time it takes to be able to switch to a different inventory slot after jumping with the gloves. It has quite a bit of lag.

I get the lag too. Also my first few games of the day I win and get a crown or two my aim is perfect I'm making great decisions then il have a long losing streak for two hours not being able hit a single shot and get owned it's rigged

Here's a tip: Bring a stack of Nitro. It can actually help you quickly get in and out of situations quickly especially during endgame.

I started carrying Nitro especially when I haven't found any gloves. They have come in clutch a lot. You can really get moving with it!

Due to all weapons being too OP avoid too much close range fighting because if you take damage from a fight you are only one shot or one fist or one explosive from being third-partied back to the lobby.

They are definitely a spammy weapon. If I'm on point and paying attention and my item slots are on point, I can manage them. But like Jake says, fail to do that, if you let them get in close to you and can't two shotty them or make distance, I lose like 80-90% of those fights. They just do damage faster and don't really require any aim. I've been intentionally carrying Nitro Splash. If I don't have Fists, then as soon as I HEAR them near me, its very fast to pop a NItro Splash and then I can Sprint+Jump+Slide+Jump combo to make distance. If you are good with changing directions on your slide movement, the Nitro Splash effect can allow you to be very hard to catch with the Fists. It's another solid alternative to just fighting fire with fire with the Fists.

Yeah, Nitro is super helpful. I was surprised how fast I could get moving with it. Definitely a nice substitute for Fists when you need. And there's usually tons of it around, since it pops from most large ammo bags.

Use the fists, dashes, pulse grenades, or vehicles to lead an aggressive player into other players preferably some place with structures or other types of cover. Easy to get a few shots on them in the chaos.

Ive actually got a fair fews wins under my belt relying on gloves alot, but this gives good tips. I usually die when either a I run out of charges in 2v1 fight if im not doing solos, and usually shotguns only thing that kills me. but just dont have enough inventory space this season, If I do that good combo, gloves into crossbow into shotgun, thats 3 slots and i want emp to counter dam cars, but also need white and shield heals. And not mentioning AR for long range. its difficult. I just go with what I get. but ideally infinite ammo medallion, crossbow, mythic gloves, shotgun and heals. If I have these, I usually win solos.

My biggest problem is that I get too excited and end up tapping the switch weapon buttons instead of trigger. Last season on more than one fight I would throw splashes at the enemy instead of switching to a weapon. I did win one of the fights because the player got really confused, I guess.

This is sucking all the joy out of my gameplay. I can say without exaggeration that 9 out of 10 times I die it's due to nitro fists. Keep these items in a separate gamemode and call it "No skill high kill"

when you open your map the names of some locations will be written in gold lettering and others will be written in white lettering. the locations written in gold have higher rarity loot and flying loot boxes/drones. the locations change rarity each game so make sure to check your map :)

Yup. Been there. Bots are deadly AF with gloves if they catch you, haha. Great way to get gloves too, though. Love when bots bring sweet loot to you. I once had the boss with the fists uppercut me off a mountain so I died to fall damage, lol.

I've only been playing since chapter 4 season 2, but the fists feel like the kinetic blades to me so I'm enjoying them. For this season I tend to use mobility items for anything other than pure mobility. I either use them as defence or offence, never to travel from A to B. That's what the cars are for. I don't waste time kitting out the car with guns and catchers. I find that playing from the back row and taking your time is the antidote to the chaos of this season. As for the fists, don't be fooled by epics slight of hand. Remove the sounds effects and flash graphics of the nitro fist and you'll see just how slow a clumsy a weapon is. Stay cool and pick them off. I've never lost to nitro fists while holding a gatekeeper.

Great tips. tnx. I feel like Im constantly dieing to fists. Funny you mention "struggling" with inventory and switching to the item needed. THAT is still my biggest issue on KB&M using the scroll wheel. I WAS using my 2 side buttons to go directly to either close range gun or movement.
