i'm one of those freaks that doesn't really dig meat substitutes most of the time - maybe a video on grilling veg? or making grilling interesting for those who want to skip the "meat"? which veggies hold up best, how to prep them, serve them, etc.!

This is the best video on cooking these things I've found. I'm not vegan but I made a beyond meat burger a few years ago with avocado and it was hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. But I wasn't sure if the ground "beef" version can be formed and shaped into a patty and grilled without crumbling. This is the only the video that shows how it's done, and also just in general is a sick video. Cheers!

The untoasted bun joke killed me! Lol. I’m with you, toasting the bun is a must. I’m with you on the impossible being the best. Also, I just tried a Gardein ultimate black bean burger and it was amazing. I was shocked at how juicy it was. Yes… they are too small and overpriced but I’ll still buy more.

Another thing that so rarely is done in vegan circles is smoking! Plant based burgers are also great reverse seared. I like to use mesquite wood to smoke them for a while and then sear over the fire to seal in that goodness. It's every bit as good as smoking any animal meat.

I personnally despise pickles but except for that those burgers look amazing. Quick question: is vegan meat healthier than actual meat (since it's made of plants and stuff)??
@TheeBurgerDude2 жыл бұрын
There's a lot of debate about this, but they (the vegan burgers) have no cholesterol, and usually less saturated fat. They get picked on because they have a lot of sodium, but you typically season a burger with salt, so I feel like that balances out. There are other vegan meats that are definitely healthier though, like seitan, stuff made with tofu, chickpeas etc.

Seeded buns for me, every time. I hardly get to eat out and if I can have seeded buns to make my meal that little bit more special I'm all for it. Plus it helps keep the height of the total burger manageable because I can spread the same amount of toppings over a larger area. Besides, what kind of whopper doesn't have sesame seeds, I mean come on.
