There have been lots of mentions of "match-ups" lately, but this is the clearest example of what that actually means. I suspect you'll get a lot of folks (me included) thinking long and hard about our 'isolated elements' approach to 'fixing' our swings. Excellent stuff, boys 👍.

Yes Rufuss. Lots content about flattening off the wrist out there but it all depends so we thought we would do a video on it. Hope it was useful.

Great video. I now understand the relationship between wrist flex at setup and top of the backswing. One of my issues is club across the line at the top. I would like to hear how left wrist flexion/extension affects this. I think it may be caused by too much cupping of lead wrist.

I’m currently doing the Total Driving course, and there’s a video talking about the importance about having a flat wrist, with the “stop at the top” drill to make yourself aware of the faults. I know it’s from 2021, and it’s dependent on the grip used, but given the change in view, would you consider updating some of the course plans if new techniques / practices prove to be better than before?
@meandmygolf.Ай бұрын
Hey Duckers. Thanks for the comment. We are definitely looking at updating some of the content. What we would say in the Total Driving Course is to do that if you are seeing that the club face is open and the ball wants to miss right. Remember that all the ball cares about is the club face. Great suggestion though to put something like this in there. It's important stuff to know. Hope the golf is going good.
@Duckers61Ай бұрын
@@meandmygolf. thanks for this. I know you effectively update your content with videos such as these, but update some of the courses would also be nice. Even if it was just adding on to say “we said this before, it’s still correct but we prefer doing it slightly differently” 👍 Love the content - keep it up

Hack motion focuses on lead wrist. Pro sendr focuses on trail wrist. Also much higher tech and feedback tolerance in Hack Motion

This is so interesting. I've been struggling lately big time with mostly pushes and push fades. While I know that can be caused by some many different factors, it's had me re-evaluating my grip. I naturally (without trying to) have a bowed wrist at the top of my backswing. In trying to fix the pushes and push fades, I've been messing around with a strong grip. So according to this video, a combination of a bowed wrist and a very strong grip is a big no-no correct? Or will going with a very strong grip naturally make my bowed wrist go away?
@meandmygolf.Ай бұрын
Hi Rob. Yes you can work at the wrist angles and or grip. A stronger grip requires less flex at the top and a weaker grip requires more flex usually. If you go strong and the have a flexed wrist that could lead to hooks. It's about balance. Focus more on the club face and the ball flight to guide you.

Paying attention to my wrist flex has helped me eliminate my slice - or at least I thought that was the reason? Maybe I need to re-evaluate my grip? It is a strong grip but I think I was cupping too much - the bowing seemed to help. Maybe I need to watch a few more times? You guys are great!
@meandmygolf.Ай бұрын
Yes John. Changing the wrist angles will definitely impact the face which is fine. A grip change can do the same. It's just finding what is easiest and more repeatable. Hope that makes sense.

This is why online instruction can be bad. An online coach only saw my down the line shot and saw my extended wrist at the top and said I needed to be more flat. Well he didn’t ask how I grip the club so telling me to flatten my wrist would actually hurt my game. Everyone is so quick to match what seems normal when there are many correct ways to get similar results. Great lesson!
@meandmygolf.Ай бұрын
There are so many things needed to be taken in to consideration. The ball is the guide. If you need to square the face you can change your grip or work on those wrist angles. It’s finding what works best for each person. Glad you enjoyed the video

@meandmygolf.Ай бұрын
Hi Roy. What is the ball doing? If you are losing it right then you can either strengthen your grip or flex the wrist. If you are losing it left you can do the opposite. Does that make sense?
@RoycrozzАй бұрын
@@meandmygolf. Yes it does. I’ll give it a go on the range tomorrow. At the moment I believe I have a strong grip ( 3 knuckles) and cup my right wrist. Varying degrees of success with that but gets me around the course. Thanks for replying, it’s appreciated.
