Ma'am,I have started watching your videos in the recent past and literally fell in love with them. Your pronounciation, examples, explanations are really commendable. Ma'am , could you make a video on pronouns... reflexive, emphasizing, descriptive...? If yes,it would be helpful. Thanking you.

Ma'am in no.8 can genre be pronounced gen-re?
@TheMindspringsEnglishTeacher2 жыл бұрын
No, gen -re with a j sound is wrong. zh- awn -r (with a schwa) is correct as it is a french word.

Is there any technique to know silent words ?
@TheMindspringsEnglishTeacher3 жыл бұрын
none. reading by sight and hearing the word's pronunciation and knowing is the only way. But there are some patterns where all derived words can later be understood as silent. e.g. psycho (logy/metry/somatic) etc. We learn them all in a while.

MA'AM IF WE PRONOUNCE IRON AS AYE-N THEN WHAT ABOUT ION. 😀
@TheMindspringsEnglishTeacher3 жыл бұрын
Iron. Just remember it as I as in the personal pronoun I; and 'urn' as you say in the words turn or burn. You will get it. English is a non phonetic language so you can't go with the spelling.

Ma'am as mentioned English is not a phonetic language .I am seeing in the Kindergarten schools ,emphasis is laid on phonic sounds as a result the children pronounce the words wrong . Is it that the teaching of phonics is not done the correct way.
