"I used to think that sharing every detail of my life was a sign of transparency and trust. But I've❤ learned that over-sharing can lead to emotional exhaustion, judgment, and even harm. By learning to keep things to myself, I've gained control over my narrative, set healthy boundaries, and cultivated more meaningful relationships. I've discovered that sometimes, the most powerful thing I can say is nothing at all. In the silence, I've found peace, clarity, and a sense of self that I never knew I had. Keeping things to myself has been a liberating journey, and I'm grateful for the lessons learned along the way."❤

Im so excited about this topic, because I was once a victim and it drained my energy. Oversharing makes one's life boring, people should be curious to know what's going on in your life, don't just be an open book to everyone, especially on social media. AND WHEN SOMEONE DECIDES TO OPEN UP TO YOU, YOU'RE NOT OBLIGATED TO DO THE SAME.

Thank you Pretty Winnie for this episode and Happy Sunday to you! What really surprised me when I saw the notification and title of this video was how coincidental it was that I was actually thinking about this today, and even had to browse at length on different articles, to know the real reason behind this recent trend/syndrome of needing to put all of oneself out there. I would think of myself as an oversharer, though I had become aware of it and have been consciously trying to minimize it, after having seen the damage and harm it can do to one by living this way, but surprisingly most people have not really considered it adverse, judging by the things I see some people share on social media. One of the quotes I use to restrain myself when I feel that need to overshare or impress others is "Live a life that feels good on the inside and not one that just looks good on the outside". Overall, insecurity or voidness is at the core of it. People who are full or are wholesome have little or no need for external validation...

Don't let people who you do not trust or vouch for to an extent into d vault of ur life It's not really ur place to keep a conversation going Read body language Dont always go looking for someone to talk to. Learn not to overtalk Learn to pen down your thoughts for yourself Set your boundaries Become a good listener, an active listener Listen actively not to talk back but to process what is or has being said James 1:19-22 Be quick to listen and slow to speak Listen twice as much as you talk Stop overly trusting people Trust is earned Test your friends Learn to keep things vague and generalize ur talk sometimes Stop posting everything abt you on social media Be mindfu of strangers Set boundaries to yourself and stay loyal to your boundaries

Sometimes it's okay to put your relationships or friendships to the test and see what you're really made of.😊 I tried this with my flat neighbour, whom I had doubts about, by intentionally not showing up when they expected me to, but on my own terms. I can relate with the KZbin space being less toxic. I started being here more because, i love the positivity in the comments. So a friend stopped talking to me for a while, she even blocked me. I reached out to her and she shut me out for months. Later she reached out to me and one of the reasons she gave for ghosting me is that i share very little about my life, but sincerely i believe I've been very open to her since we've been friends but obviously she didn't see it like that i guess. Thanks alot for these tips ma'am, i need to be better with keeping my business private, not everything should be said and i think we all should respect that tho.

My family came from two different countries to the U.S. One culturally is known for being extremely talkative. So for me it’s more cultural instead of insecurity or fear of silence. But yes not all people need to know everything about a person! Regarding letting people speculate can lead to people making false assumptions and then spreading that around as if it’s fact (they created their own narrative). I’ve had that happen a few times and it’s difficult to recover from that kind of reputation damage.
