Harvest Hosts is an amazing program and I highly recommend it to everyone that has a camper/RV. We have stayed at some great places. And, as you have shown here, it’s not just wineries, breweries, distilleries, etc. But, the food at many of those places can also be wonderful.

@@LessJunkMoreJourney I forgot to also mention that if anyone is hesitant to pay the annual fee, it truly pays for itself after just a couple of stays. We traveled from PA to the UP of MI and used several HH locations for no cost except for the food (which we would have likely done if we had stopped at a campground at that time after long drives). The RV HOF/Museum is also a HH location.

We have done the Virginia Creeper Trail. It was awesome. We have biked quite a few rail to trails. We don’t RV. We camp in our square drop. Definitely see the appeal of Harvest Host if you RV. To me many RV parks just seem like a parking lot.

Just a heads up on the very, very fresh eggs, they don't boil well If you want to boil them let them age for a week or two. The shells don't release from fresh eggs very well and you wind up picking the shell off in little bitty pieces. That said they're great for just about anything else you want to do with them. Yum, yum. Keep the good stuff coming and I give the kids a hug for me.

I bought my Airstream 10 years ago. In just that time I have noticed campground prices have doubled and in some cases tripled or quadrupled which is nothing more than greed because they can. You may remember the place you stayed in Pigeon Forge a few years back and you recommended with the Passport America? Well, now look at it. I paid $42 a night or so after you. Now it is like $200. The problem with owners of these places is that they are now at or in some cases above the charge for a hotel room with breakfast. RVers haul their own to save and enjoy, not pay MORE.

If the weather is good, not too hot or cold, I love Harvest Host. I would rather spend that money at a HH business than at a campground. Unfortunately it’s for one night only. If I’m staying for a week or two then I’ll choose a state park where I can kayak. I have not tried my boon dockers welcome yet since I really don’t like to socialize and you are on someone’s property 🙄 When I do HH I stay at breweries, wineries, museums, and golf courses. I never stay at farms though….I lived on a farm for 20 years.

GFCI Tripping and only option is a GFCI?? && you want to try a couple easy possible solutions - to see if you can get it not to trip? Possible Options below and likely for Non shore power detect equipment (like LJMJ’s victron) RVrs. Not sure if it helps but something to try - had luck with my winnie this way when plugging into GFCI. 1) Hard switch fridge to gas - I know LJMJ have a residential fridge. 2) Turn off breaker to A/C Can be many other things obviously but above is worth a shot to try once with their RV when there is only a GFCI and it is not working. AC and fridge - Not because of high current draw but for the small leak to ground tendencies on the compressor relay circuits is my understanding.

SO enjoyed this video. And I know EXACTLY what rv park you were talking about at the very beginning as we stayed there one night, too. Never again. Couldn't sleep that night because in my overactive imagination, I could just see somebody creeping around that tar paper shack with mischief on their mind. LOL. Couldn't get out of there fast enough the next morning. We have a 40 foot fifth wheel with no ability to boondock...only 1 battery, a residential fridge and a small generator. Your Harvest Host sites make us think maybe we could do it. Just have to try it. And the Route of the Hiawatha is amazing. We did it last year, all the way down, rode the shuttle back up to their drop off point and then rode the rest of the way to the parking area on our Lectric bikes. It was something we could not have done without them. I do have to say that I had a bit of a panic attack on the way back because of that long tunnel. Coming down through it, you could always see the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel" but coming back up, you saw that tunnel ending only at the very end. And I told my husband to go ahead without me because I was going to do it slow. I ended up having a horrible problem seeing and even walked the bike part of the way. When I did catch up to where he was waiting for me, he informed me that I didn't have my lights on. I mean...at least a dozen people passed me in the tunnel and nobody let me know. Ugh. We hope to do it again this next summer and I will be SURE my lights are on~~

GFCI they typically trip anyways due to the amount of leak to ground is enough difference that it thinks someone is getting shocked. One reason they revised the electrical code recently to exclude 30/50 amp feeders that required GCFIs. There was an exclusion for RV parks via a written letter. Not sure what the MultiPlus is seeing.
