Cyber Security is the fastest growing sector in I.T. AND you can make a lot of money in this field💰. Are you interested in this field and why? If you are already in this field, what is your experience?

Hey now.. The reason why I'm interested is because I'm a Police Officer, and I want a technical challenge in a field that makes me feel like I still in law enforcement, because I believe it's a calling of mines.. Therefore I'm thinking this is a good path and start.

first step is learn basic and concept of Security (Security+) Linux Administration as the basics CEH Certificate (Beginner technical and also more theoretical approach, with limited hands-on labs) but i strongly recommend go for OSCP if you're looking to become a pentester. Will teach you much more in the technical aspects than any of the other options. i recently finished CEH v10 Certified Ethical Hacker Book by Ric Messier and also practiced main topics on Virtual and Real environment. i also taken Security+, Network+, Linux+ and Lpic1 courses. one of my friend advised me that i should go for coding if i want to expand my knowledge about security. i started c++ three month ago.

Hi Desiree, the only reason you won't be able to secure a job is if you don't try or have any experience. Try to gain as much experience in your personal time as well and seek certifications.

Can you do a video comparing what Information Security Analyst, Cyber Security, and Cyber defense are? I got confused about these similar majors. Currently I’m majoring in collage as Cyber Defense CCIS2536 in Hennepin Technical Collage. Please search it and let me know what the difference are. My advisor doesn’t seem to know the difference as my collage only has that Cyber Defense major

Certifications and bootcamps. First you would need to learn what it is that exists out there by conducting research and talking to individuals in the space or hiring a coach or mentor.

Hello! I was looking at ISA as a career option, but I had a few questions. 1. Is it extremely stressful? 2. How difficult is it? 3. What kind of math is there involved (if there is)? 4. Is coding involved in this career?
@ElevateToTheUnknown
@ElevateToTheUnknown Жыл бұрын
The level of stress involved in a career as an information security analyst can vary depending on the work environment, organization, and specific job duties. Information security is a critical function in today's digital age, and the pressure to ensure the safety of an organization's information can be high. However, many information security analysts find their work to be rewarding and enjoy the challenge of continuously staying on top of emerging threats. The difficulty level of a career as an information security analyst can depend on several factors, such as the level of technical skills required by the job, the complexity of the security systems being used, and the pace of change in the industry. Generally, information security analysts are expected to have a solid understanding of technical security concepts, network architecture, security protocols, and risk assessment methodologies. Math is involved in information security analysis, particularly in areas such as cryptography, algorithms, and data analysis. However, the math involved is typically at a moderate level and is often more focused on problem-solving and critical thinking than advanced mathematical concepts. Some knowledge of coding can be helpful in an information security analyst career, particularly if you are working with security systems and tools that require customization or integration. Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or Bash, is particularly valuable. However, coding is not always required for all information security analyst positions, and some roles may focus more on policy development, risk management, and compliance.

Great video!I do have a question, in the real world, can I get a job with just the Security+ certification? I take my test in January & I'm not too confident on landing a job afterwards. I'm currently enrolled in a bachelors program for Cybersecurity as well. If not, any tips or advice for me? Any advice is much appreciated.

Question: I'm a Senior majoring in MIS with an IT minor. I want to get into Cybersecurity Policy/Analytics. Should I just do the cert as you suggested or do you think a Master's in Cybersecurity-Policy would be worth it? Keep in mind, having a Master's is a personal goal of mine if nothing else
@ElevateToTheUnknown
@ElevateToTheUnknown 2 жыл бұрын
Certs are cheaper and will give you the exposure that you need to work in that area. Get the master's when/if there is a need for it. Always look at a master's as a lever to make a higher salary not just to fulfill a personal goal. Master's are expensive and if you aren't making the money to pay it back they are useless like a tattoo that you care about but nobody else does.
