This kind of skips the need for them to guess, it is a bit like posting our likes and dislikes as well as our Alma maters, first car etc on social media, all of it really is quite a risk, to not only our employers but to us as well. An "attack" can happen physically or electronically, we must be wary of it all if we do not want to deal with the aftermath of an malicious attack.

I work for one of the major public cloud providers and in the training it explicitly says "Do NOT share you badge on social media." A while ago the company's LinkedIn page shared a new hires post that was just a straight up HD picture of their badge and it had thousands of likes and comments. Nice.

I worked for at&t a few years ago. The facility I worked at had a fence around the parking lot, in order to gain access you had to show your badge to the security camera at the gate and the offsite security was supposed to check it against the employee list. Maybe they didn't actually check the list every time and just looked at the camera feed, I'm not sure. Building access was more secure though. You had to use the RFID and it had to be activated for that facility. So I could get into my work building but without approval my badge would not work at any other facility. It's cool that you were able to do this but I'm actually surprised it worked.

It is good to know their building security isn't modelled after their customer service, you would still be there waiting and waiting....and waiting.

This is good advice, but you can't even get close to a receptionist without a scannable badge where I work. It's all bar codes, not even RFID, so good luck, you'd have to physically take it from me
