Alex, as always you come up trumps buddy. I'd say that I’m fairly confident I'm gonna have more tools to ask for repetition. The way I see things, these functional languages (chunks of language) are extremelly important to connect language to real day to day English conversation. I've just remembered that in the very beginning when trying to understand its concept ), it was really mind-blowing experience. Honestly I confess, it still is. The variation, the meaning, the amount of information we have, it's a whole' nother level. Well, they'll certainly help us to achieve fluency. Thank you so much for these tips.

My dear what are you suggesting to use these phrases instead of "I don't understand" are not similar because when a person says that "I don't understand" He/She doesn't know what is the other person is saying. What you presented are wonderful phrases but are not same as "I don't understand"

Mr. Alex, would you please explain how the sentence, “this is a disease that requires surgery to remove”, is composed, and particularly, whether there is an “it” omitted after “remove” and if so, how to justify this usage? I cannot find any convincing or satisfactory answers from my grammar books or dictionaries (searching online corpus for the usage of “require” also proved futile.) So I would really appreciate it if you will help.
@sutapadey52743 жыл бұрын
i think there should be "it" after remove. it doesn't matter in day to day english because it is implied but to be pedantic it should be "this disease requires sergery to remove it" because "the teacher requires you to remove your pen" (for example) is a gramatically correct sentence and remove is a transitive verb (it must have a noun or a pronoun after it)
