Thank you so much for all those wonderful synonyms you provide us with. I really am interested in expanding my vocabulary to sound less redundant and increase my fluency of speech; but sir to be just and sincere to the thought the are times when pretty is the accurate word and not stunning or pulcritunious( gee I hope that is a viable word). In other words, when do we then use the word "very"??? Thank you, learned a lot from your lesson.
@LearnEnglishwithHarry Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words and appreciation, Carmen. 'Pulchritudinous' is indeed a viable word, but it is quite uncommon and might not be well understood by many people. It's crucial to strike a balance between using less common words and being easily understood by your audience. As for using 'very,' it's a versatile word that can emphasise the degree of a quality. The idea is to diversify your vocabulary without completely discarding simpler words, using them when they fit the context and convey your intended meaning effectively.
