I put a couple gloves in the oven once to break them in using this foam I got at models. If you get the timing right it works really well. Other than that just freakin use the glove lol I can’t believe this guy gets paid to do this.

Let it work itself in through use, doing so creates the perfect fit and keeps the leather in good condition (don’t steam). Forcing it will make the glove floppy over time because you’re basically giving it two different motions it will go. My glove from when Louisville Slugger made gloves and it’s still perfect.

When I was on a select team I never really played outfield so I didn’t have an outfield glove but then I needed one so I got one, had a week to break it in and I broke it in naturally within that week. Best glove I’ve ever used

I played baseball when I was younger, and I detested wearing the gloves I hated it so much that I actually got permission from both of the coaches each game that I didn't have to wear the gloves as long as I never got hurt (I could catch a lot better with the gloves off as well so it was just all around better for my performance) I never got hurt from it, and I won us a game because I kept catching the ball before it hit the ground

@@hugostiglitz3633 Bro I live in Texas. We have the most competitive sports youth through high school outside of maybe California or Florida. I also umpire for a living. I’ve seen plenty of 9 and ten year olds who suck that play SS and pitch. There’s plenty that are really good too, but just because they play those two positions doesn’t mean they’re good. They’re still 9. Even in HS a shortstop and pitcher for one team may ride the bench for another team.

you’re about to play high school so i suggest investing a good, expensive glove. whatever size is fine but i wouldn’t suggest getting a small one, so probably 12.5 or 13 inches. Hope this helps.

Kids SHOULD NOT engage in traditional exercise. BUT grip strength can be well developed, done progressively. Like chill progress. My grip was not the same as other kids on my team, our gloves seemed to reflect that too. I didn't like how everyone's gloves were dependent on a big fold in the middle with the remaining leather kept stuff. My glove was relatively evenly soft, my mit was accused of disintegration. Get those little hands playing as hard as they do.

Stick to catcher. Get a good catcher’s mitt and work on your hitting and framing. I’m a former catcher and now I umpire. If you can hit and frame, you’ll play all the way through college if you want
